Flea and Tick Prevention for Dogs Chewables, Oral Flea and Tick Control

We didn't want to give our dog chemicals anymore, so we searched for something natural. We have been using these little chews for two summers now, and we are thrilled with the results. My retired husband and our dog hike through the woods regularly and there has been no ticks or fleas at all on her all summer. Before this product, we would regularly find ticks on her. Now my hubby might get a tick, ha but not the dog. The end of last fall we had some below freezing temps, so I stopped giving them to her thinking the low temps killed the ticks, but we found a couple on her. It wasn't a coincidence. I highly recommend this product. Oh and she is a picky eater, but loves these chews.

Our oldest pet family member, Micki, had a seizure after her first injected vet flea and tick medicine. That's when I researched an OTC alternative and found Grateful Pawz monthly chews. I have been giving them to Micki (5) and Jenni (4) since then. The scent is good, they are digestible, and we have not had a flea or tick problem since they started these. I have them on auto reorder (savings-yay). As far as I can tell there are no side effects. Pups are always eager to get these every 30 days, and we are blessed with happy health girls.

We had our first ever experience with fleas and wanted to try non-harsh chemicals since our girl has heart problems. We used diatomaceous earth on carpets and bedding, Dawn soap for baths, then added in these chews for an inside-out treatment. Within a week-ish, I noticed a reduced amount of them joyriding on her belly. Not sure if it was a scent the fleas smelled or if they were actually biting her and giving up, but it worked. Everyone has their own experience with various flea treatments and maybe these don't work for every case, but they helped us. They'll be a regular purchase from now on. (The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the chicken flavor smell knocks me out when I open the jar. My girl loves them, but man....no bueno for me.)

I truly believe these worked to deter ticks. I was pulling at least 2-3 ticks off my dog every day at the beginning of the season here in NC— after giving her 3 of these a day for about a week (she is ~65lb golden) I stopped seeing ticks, I wasn’t even being consistent with her topical spray before going outside, so I really do think it was this supplement. BUT, after a couple more weeks I noticed dermatitis patches popping up on various parts of her skin, irritated and clearly itchy. I can only assume it was this, because she never had skin issues before, so I’ve stopped supplementing for now. Maybe doing a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off schedule might be a more balanced approach throughout the season? Every dog is different, but I do think these do what they claim👍

I have purchased this multiple times. It works well for my dog and is of good quality. It does have a smell though. I will buy again. These dog hemp treats are fantastic! My dog absolutely loves the taste, and I feel good giving them because they’re made with natural ingredients. They seem to help with my dog’s anxiety and promote calm behavior without any side effects. The size and texture are perfect for training or as a regular treat. Overall, a high-quality, effective, and delicious option for any dog—highly recommend!

My dog doesn't like it and won't eat them. even though the web page states that I have 30 days to return it but when I tried to start the return process another web page pops up and informs me that this product isn't returnable.. I believe this would be considered false advertising..

So, I purchased these for my 17 year old Rat terrier mix who is going deaf, AND blind, so he gets a little anxious, insecure, and stressed at times. He will scratch at doors, pace or bark non stop if I'm not near (or at work). It broke my heart. His Thunder Shirt wasn't helping either. Then we tried these little gems. Amazingly they helped calm Kirby down. And he seemed to love the taste. At first his fast pacing became slow walks thru the house, periodically stopping to just stare off into space...lol he looked high, but he was fine. His barking stopped, and he'd scratch at the doors not nearly as much as before. NOW, when i give them he sleeps peacefully, and is more relaxed for up to 8+ hours. I gave them to him 2x/day for 2 weeks at first, then only when I was going to be away for extended periods. I feel better about giving these to him because they aren't drugs, or prescribed meds that make him loopy or sick, but they work to calm him and help him relax instead of stress out or have separation anxiety. WITHOUT the after effects of meds. I will continue to use these to help him naturally age gracefully, calmly and with dignity.
