How many bulbs do you get in a sting ? and how bright are they

15 bulbs total. You can have them bright but they are more for ambient lighting to get the best effects out of them.

Do these fit a standard UK outdoor socket?

Yes, But, the transformer is going upward not downward. So it is a problem for my outdoor socket wall box as I cannot close the lid on it. Otherwise UK plug yes :) As well if you want to use chained 2 sets you can use only one plug and that nice - also change setting in the Govee app from 1 strip to 2 and you are all set !

Can you set these to come on at certain time an turn off few hours later can only see a way to come on but not turn off?

It is recommend to use automation function in the app to set a time to turn on and off.

Can these but cut to a specified length, i.e instead of the full 15m can I cut them down do 12m? Can I cut where the power lead exits the previous bul

The outdoor string light can't be cut.
