Fantastic Resource!
I ordered this Venice book, along with this same author’s Rome book… and WOW! They did not disappoint. It’s easy enough to Google countless websites of things to see and do in Italy, but this author’s books go above-and-beyond! If you want to learn about hidden gems of things to do, In places where all of the other tourists will NOT be gathered, this is the book for you. Don’t hesitate. (And if you’re going to Rome, you MUST order that book, as well. The author even responded to an email question I had with an incredibly heartfelt and helpful reply. I am so grateful to have stumbled upon her work!).

Most useful travel book ever!
This travel book is written by a person who has in-depth knowledge and a passion for Venice! She tells you the inside logistics that are so helpful, i.e., how to get around, key words in Italian, what to wear or bring, tips about neighborhoods, what to look for when visiting key sites, etc. And she has a fun and refreshing outlook on everything Italian!

So good and I need to go to Venice right now!
I discovered this book listening to a podcast. Downloaded on the kindle but then bought it in print so I could highlight!! Corinna's passion for Venice is evident and in turn makes the reader fall in love with the city without even going there! I am excited for my first trip there soon and will definitely be following her suggestions!!

Wonderful, engaging travel guide that I love reading!
This is my favorite travel book about any city, ever! It has so many wonderful and helpful tips about Venice. I also love the details and history that the author added to the book - her passion for the city really comes through and makes you equally excited to see it. From arrival, to where to stay and eat, to hidden gems around the city that are away from the tourists, this book has it all. I love Corinna's tone and now want to read all of her travel guides. You immediately feel like you're getting tips from an in-the-know friend. Highly recommended!

Awesome Book with So Much Information!
I have read Corinna's first book, and just finished her book about Venice. I am so happy I found her books. She puts so much useful information in her books. In this book she covers the different neighborhoods of Venice, how to avoid the cruise ship crowds, good day trips, bars with a view for an aperitivo she gives addresses and which vaporetto stop (which I am sure will make sense once I am there :), and so much more. She gives background and historical information about places and landmarks she mentions. Which I think will be helpful once we are there and can refer back before heading out to the different places. I have added color coded tabs throughout the book so I can refer back to places I don't want to miss. I have also used Corrina's website, signed up for her newsletter, and even emailed her with a question about a local resource. Her response was so fast and helpful. I am about to order her book on Rome. You absolutely feel Corinna's love of Italy in her books.

So much good information
We are planning a trip to Italy, and this has so much good information there is more than I can even use. It is set up to find your area of interest but I plan to read it cover to cover and hi-lite so I don't miss anything.

The best book on Venice
I bought a few travel guides before my trip to Venice, and this was the best one by far. Written in an engaging and conversational style, and also very informative. I love how gossipy background stories are blended in with the facts to make this such an entertaining read. I really feel that this book enhanced my trip to the world's most beautiful city.I particularly liked the background reading recommendations, the suggestions and background info about things like the best gelato shops, and the guide to being an ethical tourist. Not only is it the best book on Venice, but it's also probably the most readable travel guide I've ever come across! I will definitely be purchasing more books from this author when I return to other Italian cities.

Very useful book
The cover may put off some people as it seems a bit frivolous - a pity as this book is very useful for anyone visiting Venice. If another edition is planned please add an index, and/or a few maps which group together the sights/ shops/ cafes or bars by geography. Then it would be perfect!

It needs tweaks for the fifth star
This book is fantastic: it is a lovely blend of history, anecdotal snippets, practical advice for visitors and tourist information. If you want a guide to the city put this one at the very top of your list. It’s definitely my favourite. The author has an engaging writing style and you feel like you’re in the company of a trusted, knowledgeable friend. My complaints are nit picking but they did slightly take the edge of my enjoyment. I know it is a matter of taste but I find the illustrations to be squirm-inducingly awful. I cannot help but think the front cover would cause many to look away, fearing that the target audience is air headed lovers of chick lit.Secondly the editor or proof reader could do with a kick up the back side: for example who’s for whose, compliment for complement, lots of misspelled place names and the jarringly awful phrase ‘crazy busy’. Thirdly there is no map worthy of the name. I know, thanks to the helpful commentary in the book, that Venetian addresses are pretty useless but a grid could have been imposed over an outline of the city and recommended destinations could then be given an identifying reference. If I was staying in B4 I would like to look for other attractions in B4 and in the 8 contiguous squares. Finally, an index would be useful.

Fabulous book - shame it doesn't include any maps!
This is a wonderfully expressive book that really makes you feel the depth of beauty for Venice. I would have given it 5 stars but I am just quite disappointed that it doesn't include any diagrams or maps, and when referring to the locations of the places etc that are discussed in the book, it would have been more helpful.

A must for anyone venturing to Venice.
I came across this book on a web search. The title caught my eye and the rest as they say is history. This book is the best! It's got everything you could possible need to know. It's not a quick read, but I found myself choosing chapters that interested me most. However, the way that Corinna writes pulls you into the fascinating world of Venice and I found myself devouring chapters that I didn't think would interest me. Without doubt, buy this if you want to be in the know. Happy reading.
