It's way too sharp, and after seeing some birds troubled a lot, I bought plastic straws (like the one that comes in a fruity juice pack) and inserted those on top of those spikes, so that birds won't get hurt if it mistakenly lands on it. Even with the straws, birds don't stand on top of it, it often tries sitting and stumbling and flying away without getting hurt at least.
