Couldn’t ask for a better value in a product. Great sound quality for a banger price

excellent sound, good bass, very crisp and clear mid and treble, really good battery
I bought this speaker and the W-King X10 within a few weeks of each other, and I reviewed them both to evaluate which one I'd use for the house (screened-in lanai) and which I'd mount on my eBike (to replace the speaker I had that died). This review will cover them both. I should also note that I set the EQ on my Galaxy phone to the "rock" setting. The first test was to see how much power the speakers had, a full volume evaluation on our 38'x20' screened-in lanai, so they would need to cover a fairly large outdoor room. First, I fired up the W-King X10 and turned it up all the way. Each equalizer mode (indoor and outdoor) had really deep bass that sounded good, but the outdoor mode (solid blue indicator) has better mid and treble outdoors (my primary use), so I left it on that. And Wow, does this speaker rock. It has incredible sound in that large space, with phenomenal bass, deep with a lot of punch, and the midrange and treble are also crisp. My other 2 current portable speakers (I have had and tested over a dozen in the last 10 years searching for the perfect one) are 40 watts, and I really noticed the difference with this one being 70, it has so much more punch to it. The battery life is really good, and despite its size (this is 1.5 to 2X as large as my other 2), the design really is portable (better, to me, than the other models with the built-in handle). I bought the short handle, as I will never sling this over my shoulder, and it carries around easy enough. The Zealot S-67 is rated at 75 watts (so, around the same as the W-King) and also has an incredibly powerful battery. I've used it for a while without recharging, and it still keeps on going. At full volume, it has a real punch to it. I tested all 3 EQ modes, finding that the subwoofer mode had strong bass punch, but at full volume, sounded muddy (too strong), and had very diminished mid and treble. The vocal mode had strong mid and treble (too strong) and diminished bass. The normal setting turned out to be "just right", with good bass and mid/treble, not getting muddy or too screechy at full volume. This one also filled the room. And again, there was no comparison between the power of this and my 40 watt smaller ones, this just blew them away. So, how to compare the two? First, off, if it matters, the W-King is around $35 more than the Zealot, but for the outdoor room setting of the lanai, I much prefer the W-King X10, as its bass (in the outdoor EQ setting) is punchy and clear at full volume and the mid and treble sounded great and clear as well, where the Zealot S-67 had less bass at full volume (with normal EQ to avoid muddy sound) with very crisp and clear mid and treble, even more so than the W-King. Since the Zealot had such clear mid and treble and still decent bass, it works perfectly on the eBike, where riding at 20-30mph results in a lot of road noise that kills mid and treble, so the enhanced mid and treble of the Zealot really works well. If the price difference matters that much, the Zealot is a good choice and still does quite well. So, each speaker is a great speaker in its own respect, and each fits perfectly into a specific niche where I need it. I had this speaker on a price watch (which I recommend if you have the time to wait), as it semi-regularly goes on a lightning deal, so I ended up getting this for $16 less than the normal price.

Battery is inconsistent, sound is loud by sacrificing balance
tl;dr: Loud enough for outdoor use, mine charges VERY hot, battery life is inconsistent, high volume = degraded quality.Still too long version, but got patience/time to read? Then, here we go.Hello fellow Amazon review reader. This product has over 2K reviews, why should mine matter? I bet it's because you sorted the reviews by "Newest to Oldest", no worries, I got you. Before I go into the reason I bought this and the small tidbits I can tell you about the sound, let me get the big issue out of the way first - charging this is dangerous. Maybe yours will be different but mine? My phone says the speaker is at 40%, still get the low battery warning, and boom...dead. Inaccurate battery reading? Eh, I can get over that. The issue lies in charging this thing. It comes with a USB-C cable, that's all, and I have tried it with three different USB wall charging blocks in three different outlets with the same exact results every time. This thing charges HOT...I mean, "Is this going to melt my charging block and/or cord?" kind of hot. The only charging method I've tried where it doesn't overheat is if I plug it into my laptop, which, I'd actually be impressed if it managed to make my laptop run hot. For this reason alone, I cannot recommend this speaker. Now, on to the rest of the story.I purchased this for one of three purposes: bathroom speaker so we can listen while we shower (bathroom is big enough to have his/hers sinks, can't tell you exact sq ft), basement speaker for the gym, or outdoor chores speaker. I already have speakers for all three of these purposes but the outdoor chores speaker was on its last legs. So, off to Amazon. For reference, the dying speaker was a TDK A360 speaker, loved that thing, oh well. The previous gym speaker was the AOMAIS GO 40W and the previous bathroom speaker was the Oontz Angle 3XL. The AOMAIS GO is all volume, zero balance whatsoever, would erase parts of songs while the Oontz sounds the most accurate but is by far the quietest. I enjoy singing (badly) in the shower so the less of myself I can hear, the better, but I still want the most accurate representation of the song, not just pure volume. For the basement and outdoor chores, less cares given about the sound quality. Now that you know what I'm looking for, you can see I was searching for sound quality, preferably, but flexible, depending on how it ranked vs the AOMAIS and Oontz. So, the Zealot arrived, I tested her out, full volume, no messing with the EQs to see how she performed on her own. And, she has every hallmark of a powerful (loud) speaker with minimal sound design. Once it gets up anything over 75% volume, the balance is shot out the window and the highs just pierce through everything else. No doubt, the speaker is quite loud...but that's about it. The bass, most kids care about the bass, yes, it's got some punch but it's not going to rattle anything except the smallest of rooms, which....you're going to need an EQ to really take advantage of. Like I said, at the higher volumes, the highs just overpower everything. The mark of a really great speaker, IMO, is the ability to crank it up as high as it can possibly go and sound quality doesn't degrade, it just becomes louder. This does not pass that test and listening to it at full volume, anywhere other than outside, is unbearable for my ears. It doesn't eat any part of the song, and it's louder than the Oontz, so this is now the shower speaker...but it only wins by default. The Oontz is now in the basement and the AOMAIS is in the garage. If the battery/charging worked like it should and I didn't think it was going to catch my house on fire then I'd give it a 3...since it's just a loud version of a cheap speaker. But, with the charging issue, it's a generous 2 since, you never know, maybe you won't have charging issues.

Rugged and good sound
I am glad I waited to review this speaker because of what happened today. For the first time, I took it with me to the beach. As I was leaving and packing car, I sat it on the trunk with my bag. As I was trying to retrieve my keys from the beach bag, I knocked it off the trunk, where it fell to the asphalt and bounced several times! I just knew that was the end of my speaker! You can see the damage in the photos above. After packing it and everything else, I decided to try to turn it on to see if there were any lights showing it was working. The blue lights came on! I was so surprised! The ultimate test was when I got home and connected it to my phone to play a song. It paired right up and the music was loud and clear as ever!! I've tried to push the cover back together on that end but no luck but I guess that's just cosmetic and it is on the bottom. I'm surprised it was rugged enough to survive the fall but so glad it did! I guess I'll take my smaller cheap speaker from now on; I don't want to press my luck! And I never even listened to it at the beach today! Also, I tried several speakers before keeping this one. I tried two different Soundcore speakers that just didn't have big enough sound for what I wanted. I mainly listen to rap music and it puts out some sound! Also I watch TV on my phone for now and use it to play the sound. I haven't tried it for the whole day, but charge lasts awhile with the way I use it. However, it does seem to take awhile to fully charge. And when it says battery low, it cuts off quite quickly. I love that it uses type C charger, same as my phone. I have to find a micro charging cord for my cheap little one, so that's why I took this one today. I once owned to cheaper speakers with great sound but can't get those brands again. One was bought at Family Dollar for $25 but something came loose in it and it plays, but it's distorted now. The other one, the metal thing where you hook up cord to charge fell inside the speaker, so can no longer charge it. I'd say it's a great, rugged speaker for the price!

Very happy
This speaker is just perfect. It’s loud enough, but not extremely loud, just as good/better than the JBL speakers at a fraction of the price. The bass on the normal mode is just right. I was tired of Bluetooth speakers that didn’t do Hip-Hop songs justice but this ONE?? This one does exactly as it should. It’s a good enough size that I’ll be bringing it with me on all my trips. It also looks nice & the leather strap just makes it stand out. I’m confused as to why this one isn’t the top rated one. I might buy another one, even though I don’t even need it, that’s how much I like this speaker. The speaker comes with an aux cable & USBC cable already so you don’t have to worry about buying anything else. It doesn’t come with a power brick though, so have a usb-a port to plug it into.It can be played while being charged as well.I think I’ll be connecting it to hotel/airbnb TV’s & using it for movies as well. As someone who has gone through multiple soundbar & subwoofers, this thing is good enough to give you a good portable home theater. It’s bigger than most handheld speakers but it seems like the perfect size for the sound it’s putting out.Just to emphasize, the bass is PERFECT, not too much & not lacking in any way. It’s great for decent sized gatherings in living room sized spaces as well. It can be paired with another Zealot speaker as well. I can’t imagine what two of these things sound like together, I might have to buy another one just to test it out. This brand has a loyal customer for life.
