What is the difference between the 5500 series north masks and the 7700 north masks?

The difference is the material that the face piece is made of. The 5500 series is made of elastomeric and the 7700 is made of silicone. In short, the 7700 is softer and suppler against the face. The 5500 is the less expensive option. Both series are consistent in their sizing of S, M and L.

Does this have an unfiltered exhalation valve? i need one that will protect me and my patients

mine is just a rubber exhalation seal. i have been using these for years and they don't seal 100 percent of the time when you move. and replacement of the mask (not filters), for me is done went the material hardens over time. that is about 10 -12 months. i have bought multiple of these over the years as replacement units.
