Really big and roomy, very lightweight but I question the durability of the tie loops. Also, seams need waterproofing.
The good: I bought this rainfly to go with my MalloMe double hammock, which is a fairly long hammock. A 10' tarp won't cover the hammock, and this one with it's extra long ridge covers it perfectly, and most of the hammock's straps. It's also very wide, and if you sling your hammock low to the ground, I got my hammock, bike and bags all under the tarp with the sides of the tarp low enough to stake them directly. The material is really nice 201D ripstop. The tarp is very lightweight, and folds up nicely into it's stuff sack which is made of the same material. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the stakes. I figured I'd replace the stakes but after seeing and using them, I'm going to keep them. They're very lightweight and strong, unlike the flimsy stakes you see with other tarps. The bad: The material itself is plenty waterproof, however the size of the tarp means it's sewn together and there are 2 seams that run across the tarp perpendicular to the ridge line. I set the tarp up, put my hammock under it for a dry run and saw sky through the stitching in the seams when I looked up. That's not going to block any water! So, it will need seam tape and waterproofing. I would probably have done that anyway, and didn't expect not to have to do so on such an inexpensive tarp. The ugly: The only real complaint I have with this tarp is I seriously wonder how long it will last, especially in wind. The material itself is fine and will hold up - but I question the reasoning behind using small loops of paracord on the corners and on the ridgeline instead of reinforced grommets. It's just a small 1 inch length of tiny paracord sewn to the fabric (with which looks like 1 stitch!) First setup, it looked like the ridgeline loops were getting ready to tear the tarp, or pop off - and that was without them even being tightened much. I will have to run a proper line underneath the tarp as I don't trust it to hold in a good storm with just those tiny loops. I may just add some reinforcing and grommets there myself, as otherwise the tarp is exactly what I need to cover my long hammock!

Great deal Exactly what I needed for a 2 night ...
Great dealExactly what I needed for a 2 night backpacking tripMy 1st time hammocking so didn't want to invest in anything more pricey than my $30 Costco hammock and $20 Costco down throw makeshift underquilt.I used a paracord ridgeline underneathJust tied the guy lines to boulders.Didn't use the stakes but they seam like basic aluminum stakesI don't need them because I already have a set of MSR mini groundhogsThis tarp was the sane quality as my backpacking tent rain fly.

Great large hammock tarp!
This is a great large hammock tarp. It creates a great shade when you need to get out of the sun. It is large enough that you can fold the corners around you when the elements become far less than desirable and you need to hang dry in a rain storm. I have not tested it in a really bad rain storm but enough to know the seams work well enough to keep me dry in light to moderate rain.

Everything about this is amazing. Great size
Everything about this is amazing. Great size, great ropes included, great stakes (!), great bag to hold it all in and very sturdy. Yes, seam seal the seams with waterproofing like you do all your gear, but you cannot buy a better hammock fly. Just used it for 5 days on the North Country Trail, amazing! Buying two more for my family!

Very Pleased with this large Rain Fly
Very pleased wit this Rain Fly, it does have one seam, which must be sealed. I found out on my first trip when it rained and I got a few (only a few) rain drops on my head while sleeping in my hammock. Still love it, very large, can setup in multiple ways and packs down pretty well. It's not a Ultra light rain fly, but not too heavy, I carry it backpacking every trip.

Nope and wish I had better luck with it
Being part of the boy scouts, we have alot of experience hanging rain flys. This one lasted about 20 mins before one of the ties broke. Had to rig it to the tree in hopes it would still provide shelter from the rain. In the middle of the night it started dropping rain right over my face. Very sad. I really liked the inside pocket but feel it's overall design is flawed. I plan on returning it.

IT LEAKS!!!
I've had this tarp for about a year now and I've taken it on several backpacking trips. It has been great on my summer trips where there is little to no rain. But I took it on a trip this week and it rained hard the entire time. After about 20 minutes it started to leak. By the morning all my gear was completely soaked causing us to have to leave early. You can find much better tarps for the same price.
