I am very happy with the ShadeRest Beach Umbrella!I purchased it to take to our family gathering this past summer in Emerald Isle, NC.Good quality! Easy to put up and down. Eh...good enough? I guess? It's pretty low quality (the seams on the bag started unravelling the moment we unpacked it), but if you're here on Amazon, you're probably already expecting junk. The "chromed" elbow joint is definitely a joke. It's basically a flimsy foil sticker over a hinge that works about 10% of the time. We were pleasantly surprised when it didn't break on day 1.We used this for three days before it got lost on a ferry. Don't miss it. Sad to be out $40, but at least it didn't get blown into someone on the beach. I'd recommend insurance - like, personal liability insurance – if you do purchase this. For whatever it's worth, the house where we were staying had some old school Tommy Bahama umbrellas, which seemed way sturdier. Not sure if that brand is still any good, but if you could find an old one on a large well-known auction website, that's probably the best bet.

I love my umbrella. Large and good quality is perfect for price, and value.

Ok, I acknowledge it: I have been spoiled in the past. Sadly, that left me shortsighted in selecting this umbrella. It was great, strong, and sturdy... but it was impossible to bury.

I have a small Bistro table and this umbrella works great with it.
