I enjoy this playset and have a positive view of it. It is not perfect so I will list its pros and cons. Pros: 3 ways to pick up cargo with Cranky is fun and gives the opportunity for new play. New 2022 engines stay on the track that Cranky picks up because the wheels stay in place. Wood feels sturdy and like a quality product. Arrived in a custom Fisher-Price Thomas and Friends Wooden Railway Brendam Docks cardboard box with the toy box inside neatly containing the items. New types of cargo are fun. Cranky and Bulstrode look good and fit in a layout well. Bulstrode is a lot bigger thanks to the use of plastic which lets him be lighter for little arms to play with. (con: but has more plastic to allow for the size increase). Mostly compatible with old Thomas Wooden Railway items except for the grey track piece which I will talk about in the cons. Comes with brown plastic Thomas Wood to Thomas Wooden Railway track adapters in case you made the mistake of purchasing any Thomas Wood track. Cranky is painted with daytime and nighttime sides which I think is cool but some people may not agree. The Wooden Dock Track piece has nice looking details and it has screw holes on the bottom, to hold Cranky down if you want the option of that, or if you would rather have Cranky separate from the Dock you can leave Cranky unscrewed and free to move. (4 screws are included which require a phillips screwdriver, screwdriver not included) Cons: Significant design flaw in the rope length not being long enough to pick up cargo magnetically without the claw or a helping hand. (I can not guarantee all others are like this) The use of plastic isn't the worst thing but I am warning you if an adult foot, steps on the grey plastic track piece that can be picked up, it will probably break or at the least cause damage so be careful not to do that. Also, the orange Truck/Cargo-Car is almost all plastic and I know some people don't like that but personally, it doesn't bother me. The Grey plastic track piece has bumps that catch the outside of the new bigger wheels of engines and rolling stock BUT any of the old engines or rolling stock that don't have the new bigger wheels tend to roll off the track when Cranky picks it up. Not a big problem but its worth mentioning. One last thing I feel I should mention is after seeing the rope length of Cranky isn't as long as I wanted it, I was able to unscrew and take apart Cranky (on the side opposite of the red wheel/crank lever), look inside and add some fishing line/wire to the end of the rope by tying a knot to the rope and the wheel inside then screwing Cranky back together. It took some time but if that's something that you really want to do, it is possible with just 1 phillips head screwdriver and some fishing line/wire. Overall I recommend this to anyone who is interested. A great improvement from Thomas Wood.

My grandson loves this. Cranky has withstood everything a curious and excited two year old can do to it. Strong, well-made, hours of fun

Wonderful addition to our growing Thomas collection. Super sturdy, easy to play with and take with you (my son has been carrying Cranky all over the house with him since he arrived 🤭) the tracks on the dock are smooooooooth and it's a lot of fun to play with. My only gripe is that Crankys claw could be stronger but my kid likes to put his motorized trains in the claw and swing them around the dock. But if the grip was too strong on the claw it'd be hard for toddlers to open and close it themselves so 5 star rating! We love cranky and are super happy with this set. Not to mention his adorable cranky little face is just the same as in the movies and shows
