HOW ASIA HAS WELCOMED THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST
This is an excellent, brief introduction to the story of how the gospel of Jesus Christ, which originated in Asia, has been finding its way into the hearts of Asian individuals and societies for two thousand years. The book is interesting, readable, and affordable. Because the authors draw on so many primary sources, and because their ow vision of the Christian gospel is so mature, their account may be trusted. The book is important today; too many people today assume that the gospel belongs to the West or to the past, when in fact in belongs to all the world at all times. If you're interested in seeing the Christian gospel from a non-western point of view, or if you want to learn about the church in Asia past and present, or if you want to contribute in any way to Christian missions in Asia, or if you just want to round out your understanding of the history of Christianity, I think you'll love this book. And that's true whether you happen to be Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, or Protestant. Among the topics I didn't expect to find in the book are how important revivals have been in Asian Christianity, how much missionary work is being done in the western world by Asian Christians, and how much para-church groups from the West have contributed to the church throughout Asia. I recommend this book enthusiastically and hope you will learn as much and be inspired as much as I have by reading it.
