Works Very Well
Works great! The cloth sleeve on the hose came out on the end you drink from, but that's probably because I forgot to remove it from the shoulder clip before adjusting the hose. It went back in alright, but it's a bit worrying, so I've docked one star, as I don't like it when stuff falls apart after a couple days of use. Again, it was very minor and easily fixed, but it's one more thing I need to remember when drinking from it; don't tug on the mouthpiece while the hose is in a shoulder clip on your backpack.I should note the dock/port where the hose connects to the bag can be a bit odd and can rotate past the lock position. Maybe future models can have a stop built in so it only rotates 90 degrees?I haven't tested the cleaning kit yet.No plastic taste, thank goodness. Actually, the water kinda tastes better somehow. Maybe because water tastes great when you really need it, lol!

Very Happy with Bladder and Toolkit
I’ve used this for a year hiking in UT, AZ and the Midwest. I love having the 3L capacity in the warmer climate. When putting the bladder in the pack, you need to make sure the connection between the hose and bladder doesn’t swivel. If it does you can’t get water through the tube, and soon you will have a wet pack (and back) with the bladder leaking. Only happened to me once and now I’m extra careful when loading the bladder into my pack. The hose is insulated, but the bladder itself isn’t. It still seems to keep the water cooler than others. The cap keeps the novel clean when setting the pack down — I don’t worry about what might have gotten on the mouth piece before I drink from it.I haven’t had any problems with the top closure coming off, but I don’t use it to hook into my pack after reading other reviews.Having the cleaning tools has been great, and I’ve borrowed to others interested in them.

Water tastes like it came from a plastic bag, but it beats searching for water while you dehydrate on the trail
I use this as my emergency water supply to refill my side-pocket camelbak sport-bottles for long treks. The main reason I do it this way is because I have yet to find a bladder that leaves no smell or taste in my water like my CamelBak Podium Big Chill Insulated Water Bottle, 25 oz, Sprint Green accomplishes. All I drink is water, so I may have too sensitive of a palette to the taste of water since most of what I drink comes from an under-the-sink filter that removes all smell and taste from tap water. I can always tell when the water at a restaurant is straight from the tap too, so it is probably just me. I wish I could figure out a way to eliminate it.I have had no leaking issues and this is fairly easy to fill up.

Camelbak bladders ain't got nothing on this.
Like adventuring in Eastern Sierras. Eastern Sierras tend to be hot and want to kill you. Always found my camelbak bladders to be tedious to clean and somewhat sensitive to having the mouthpiece torn off or jostled. The Emerald bladder is a clever, simple design that makes for easy clean, and also easily handling. The mouthpiece and whole hose set-up is durable, clever, and I haven't had it leak all over my pack at nearly the frequency of my camelbak bladder. Not to mention it's not nearly as expensive. The 3L size is perfect for long hikes in high temps. So far has held up to the test of my abusive adventuring.Good stuff! Treat yoself.

The bladder holds a substantial amount of water and is easy to drink from
First, it came with no instructions. I had to go to Youtube to find out how the device works. The bladder holds a substantial amount of water and is easy to drink from, but it has one major design flaw. The plastic handle at the top of the bladder doesn't hold the plastic folded beneath it well enough. As a consequence, the handle comes off and water entirely floods the contents of the backpack. It happened to me today TWICE while on a call-out for Search and Rescue. Very poorly designed and disappointing. I cannot recommend this product.

Awesome for hikes
This hydration bladder is awesome. I have taken it on several hikes and it makes staying hydrated so much easier. The hose is nice and long and the mouth piece is easy to use. I also like that it comes with the cleaning kit because now I dont have to struggle to make sure the bladder stays clean.

Mouthpiece issue resolved immediately
Product works fine except for the mouthpiece. It keeps coming off the hose when I sent an email to the company and they replaced the hose immediately. The new one works perfectly - I love this hydration bladder. No plastic taste at all. Easy to clean. Excellent customer service.

I really loved this the last time we went hiking
I really loved this the last time we went hiking. At first you will get a plastic taste even if you clean it out well but by the end of the five mile hike it was completely gone. It fit in my backpack well and never leaked. I still had some left over at the end of the hike and it was a pretty warm day.
