I was looking for a simple lav mic to improve the audio on my vlog and I didn't want to spend $300-$400 to get one. Now I know you get what you pay for but in this case for about 1/4th of the price I got a decent quality lav mic with noise cancellation. It's easy to use right out of the package. Just connect the receiving unit to your USB-C port on your Android phone or get the Lightning version for your iPhone. Press the button on the mic and they are paired. No apps, to mess with or anything. There are 2 levels of noise reduction that work pretty well, even though there is no windscreen. I haven't tried them in high winds yet but I don't usually shoot in high winds anyway. I guess the only negative I would say is that you can only use it with your cell phone so if you vlog with a DSLR or GoPro then this may not be for you. If you vlog mostly from your phone and you're looking for an affordable lav mic setup you can't go wrong with the J12 from Ulanzi.

Excellent product. Perfect for on the interviews I have been doing as well as for my personal YouTube. Sound quality is clear and crisp. It charges easily and is super easy to use. I’m very happy with them and highly recommend because of how easy they are to use. I’ve purchased other brands that were also inexpensive and one totally burned when just trying to charge it. This one has a portable charging case and also comes with the charging cord.

I use these for my YouTube videos and they get the job done. Good mic system and a very decent price. They hold a charge that will cover a full day of use. Just make sure you pay attention to the connection for your device.

First thing I’d like to say is that I enjoy the experience of using things I purchase along with the function of them. This fulfills both of those expectations. Nice magnetic retention with the sleek looking mic is nice to experience every time I use them. The mics minimize exterior echos I typically have in a home that has little to no carpet and have a nice playback sound in general. Very happy with this purchase. Oh, the case is great as well, not too small to be lost and not to big to carry. The lid is magnetic as well and the feel is nice and soft/smooth. Well done 👍🤙

Starting with the Pro’s: • easy set up (plug n play, no complications) • sound quality gets a 4/5 for me. But for the price it’s extremely worth it. the reason it only gets a 4 is because with movement there is a bit of static which is to be expected. • GREAT battery life - I’ve filmed over an hour and a half long session straight using both mics nonstop. No issues with holding charge or decline in performance. • recording range. I’ve had my subjects go and have conversations 2 basketball court lengths away and it still records perfectly. Cons: • noise canceling effect is limited - it does make a noticeable difference though. This was hard to put in “cons” because even professional microphones are effected by excessive background noise. • does not come with windscreen attachment, minor setback if you happen to be using microphones in areas with lots of wind or disrupting air Overall it gets a 5 star rating. You will not find a better product in this price range or anywhere close. If you’re thinking about it, do it.

Terrible mic. Has awful sound quality that sounds very robotic like. In addition, it also doesn’t work if you are more than 10 meters away from your phone. Would not buy again.

I started shooting video via my phone much more frequently for work. Needed some decent mics and these exceeded all my expectations. The sound is nice and crisp with minimal work in post. Range and battery are excellent. I have already shot lots of videos without audio being an issue now.

When I first got this mic set I was frustrated that it didn’t seem to be working very well. Eventually, it didn’t work at all and I was ready to return it. However, it turns out it was just lint in the port of my phone. I cleaned it out with a wooden toothpick and the mic has worked brilliantly ever since. Sound is pretty good and the range is excellent.
