The first putting book in more than a decade from the world’s best-known— and bestselling—golf instructor. With numerous bestselling books, coast-to-coast golf schools, and lessons to elite pros, Dave Pelz has founded an empire based upon his scientific approach to the game. His last putting book, Dave Pelz’s Putting Bible , was a blockbuster, but his fans are eager to learn the master’s newest and most up-to-date techniques. Their wait is finally over. In Dave Pelz’s Putting Games , he synthesizes the lessons he gives to elite pros, including Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Steve Elkington, Bo Van Pelt, and Mike Weir—not to mention the thousands of amateurs who attend the Dave Pelz Scoring Game schools and clinics every year. Pelz guides readers through the process of fine-tuning existing strokes, creating new skills and techniques, and using feedback devices at home, where it’s easy to find the time to make it happen, all in the name of improving your putting skills. Every golfer knows that improving his or her putting will lower scores, yet great putting remains one of the game’s most elusive goals. Filled with full-color instructional photos and step-by-step lessons, Dave Pelz’s Putting Games is the answer to a golfer’s dream: It shows the way to improve your putting by playing games in the comfort and convenience of your own home during the week, so you can shoot lower scores on the course on the weekends. Review: This is a good book - This is a good book because it provides very practical putting exercises designed to Stroke Mechanics, Touch, Feel. Near the end of the book, Dave talks about the fundamental principles that need to be executed with consistent-precision in order to be an effective putter (namely, accuracy and consistency with regards to: putter face aiming, putter face path, putter face alignment (especially at impact), and putter face to ball location at impact. People have problems with the end of the book’s content because it recommends playing alignment games, path games, and impact games using tools that are not commercially available. I understand the complainer’s concerns. But even though some of the tools are not available, the book provides clear guidelines regarding the nature of how the tools measure or function enabling the reader to develop similar tools or testing techniques. This book (ie, in one setting) provides comprehensive information that you may not find in a library of say 200 books. This book is loaded with sound putting information housed in a 163 page book. I consider this purchase : “A lucky find!” I suggest that you buy a copy, before they are all sold out, because this book is not being reprinted/republished. Review: Not the real Dave Pelz - Some time ago I purchased and read with great delight Dave Pelz's Putting Bible. It was a wealth of analysis and information on putting. It went into excruciating detail on how to put, why you should hit the ball exactly 17 inches past the hole, the lumpy donught and so on. As a result I had high expectations of Dave Pelz's Putting Games and was quite frankly disappointed when I received it. It contains a number of rudimentary drills and a number of "advertisements" for putting aids that you can purchase from Dave's organisation and little else. After Dave's Putting Bible and Short Game Bible which were such detailed and anlaytical books I found myself asking, was this the real Dave Pelz or just his company looking to make a few quick dollars by trading on his name.

Makes putting Improvement Fun
Dave Pelz has done it again. With the fun games he gets to work on distance control all the while improving your touch on the greens. He is the best short game instructor.

A very technical approach
This is the fourth book I have bought by Dave Pelz, and with each new one I read I remember why I considered the last one to be too technical. There were some helpful tips, but overall I found his approach to practicing putting to be too analytical for my taste.

reading the greens better, and the length of my putts have been ...
I read this book then put into practice over the last 7 weeks, my scores have come down 5 to 6 strokes per round. I'm making solid contact with the putter face, reading the greens better, and the length of my putts have been spot on. I highly recommend this book.

Has improved my putting in a fun but practical way
Has improved my putting in a fun but practical way. I have gone from an average of 38 putts per round to an average of 32 putts per round. I'm even having 1 putt holes. Yes, there is HOPE!!

Disappointing
Pelz has a great reputation, but this book is a disappointment. A premise of the book is that because most of us have busy lives, we need to practice putting at home; who has time to drive back and forth to the golf course during the week? Great. Makes sense. But as you read the book you realize that unless you have a 2.5 acre practice facility in your backyard, as Pelz does, then you're going to have to buy a lot of extra gear to play the games he describes in the book. He calls these things "MEMS" (micro-electronic-memory systems). What MEMS must you buy to play the at-home putting games Pelz describes in "Putting Games"? Well, you'll need a "Face Boot", a "Stroke Boot" an "AimLine Tutor", a "Touch Tutor", a "Putting Track", a "LazrAimer" "Teacher Clips" a "Truthboard",a "Teacher Pointer", a "Putting Tutor", and a few "Phony Holes". Gee, I wonder who might sell these training aids? Pelz? That was the second surprise. You go to his website and discover that yes, he'll sell you a "LazrAimer" for $149, a "Putting Tutor" for $49.95, and a "Teacher Pointer" for $19.95. But the other gadgets and gizmos are not available on his website -- or anyplace else! Google the names of these aids and half of them will produce zero results (other than the Golf Magazine article hawking the book). So even if you had unlimited disposable income to spend on your golf addiction, you can't buy the tools needed to play the games Pelz urges you to practice at home. The book fails even as a tool to sell teaching aids. Very, very disappointing. Not what we expect from Dave Pelz.

Just okay
Typical Dave Pelz. Felt like recycled and cutesy made up concepts. Almost an "infomercial" feel as he tries to flog more of his products. Ordinarily, I like Dave Pelz. He seems sincere and enthusiastic. This unfortunately, breaks no new ground. His bible line is much better.

Good book
I think Dave Pelz is awesome and I have about 5 books from him now. He really gives you the meat and potatoes on how to do things. He treats golf like a science but makes it seem very easy if you are willing to put the work in. My short game and my putting are really good and drastically improved. Highly recommend it.

Bit of a scam, really.
Disappointing that most of the aids required for a good number of these games - supposedly produced by Dave Pelz and available on his website - aren’t available there, or anywhere else. So some of the games, you just can’t play. I feel somewhat cheated. Two stars, because you can do some of the games on your own with no aids. Had I known the situation, though, there’s no way I’d have bought the book.
