As a student I did not bother with Comptons, World Book, Using my schools encyclopaedia Britannicas exclusively because all the other encyclopedia sets could not hold a candle to the broad information furnished by Encyclopaedia Britannica. At home my mother bought me as a child A set of funk and Wagnalls encyclopedias, once every month from the Publix grocery store, but I always wished I had Encyclopedia Britannica‘s at home. In later life I bought the CD set of them but the CDs in no way compared to the actual books. For decades I wanted these and finally jumped on a chance to get a used 1985 set in fair condition. Imagine my surprise when I got a brand new, never been opened shadow Britannica’s, black leather, with gleaming gold leaf on the tops of the pages. It was the last thing I expected and I halfway thought I would end up having to send them back. I treasure my sparkling set of gorgeous 1991 printed Britannica’s.
