Reading Explorers Year 6: A Guided Skills-Based Journey

Brillant book and kids approve. They love the texts - such as snot science - inside and have responded really well to the questions.I thoroughly have loved this book and it is a refreshing new resource to use after working in Y6 for 4 years.Would highly recommend and will be purchasing the Year 5 text.

CD that I received does not work. Have tried it on numerous devices. Would like a replacement one of possible. Happy to post back the non working one.Book itself does the job very well. Used for y4 last year and y6 this year.

I have been after a suitable resource for Guided Reading for a while now and this is by far the best I have come across. It is very accessible and has texts suitable for different abilities (able in book and less/more able on CD). I really like the way the book is structured and the lesson plan is very easy to follow and understand. I would highly recommend this book.

I think these could have been excellent but I don't find the book overly useable in a practical sense. The answers are written next to the question! This means you can't photocopy and you can't encourage the children to read their own questions. It just seems like a bizzare idea. It would be fine if you typed the questions up again but let's be honest who buys a book to do that!

I used this when I was in year 3 and now have it again for year 6. I love that every child can access the same text but with differentiated levels of the same text on the CD to print for them. The questions are just great too. Highly recommend.
