Best Form of Calcium at a Fair Price; As Good as Any
This seems to be a perfectly acceptable product. I actually purchased it for my puppies because growing puppies, like growing children, need lots of calcium. I haven’t taken it myself. I cannot speak to the purity of this product since I do not have the necessary laboratory equipment to analyze it, but it seems fine and is competitively priced. Like all powdered calcium, it’s very powdery and does tend to get all over everything so handle it carefully! Also, the fact that it has no flavor makes it easy to give to the puppies: I simply mix it with their food and they don’t seem to notice it at all. The only change that I would recommend would be to package the product in an airtight plastic bottle rather than in a plastic bag. This would make it easier to store and use, and would be neater. Of course, one could always transfer the calcium citrate to another container (carefully, so you don’t make a mess!). I do prefer calcium citrate to other forms of supplemental calcium. Even though it is less concentrated than calcium carbonate (you have to use more citrate than carbonate to get the same amount of calcium), it is more easily absorbed and does not cause the gastro-intestinal issues that calcium carbonate can cause. It doesn’t have the contamination that you can find in bone meal and dolomite either. As a matter of fact, calcium citrate and calcium lactate are the only forms of calcium that I would use or recommend to others.

Very Easy to Use -- Good Value
I prefer powders to capsules, allows me to add this to yogurt or juice, oatmeal, whatever. It's not terribly grainy, well milled to a fine powder, but not so fine that it flies everywhere. The citrated form is more readily absorbed by the body. I don't get a lot of natural calcium from my diet as I'm lactose intolerant, and I don't drink fortified juices or drinks so this is an important way to supplement. Best if 500 mg taken in the morning and 500 mg taken mid-day (lunch). That way you can take your magnesium in the evening; calcium and magnesium should not be taken together as absorption is impaired. I find most Bulk Supplements of good quality and value.

High quality product, reasonably priced, good customer service.
If you take a magnesium supplement (which everyone should - 75-80% of the western world is deficient), you also need to take a calcium supplement to keep the proportions right. Your intake of calcium should be twice that of magnesium so this is the ratio in most calcium/magnesium capsules, but there are several problems with the buying it this way: 1) Virtually all the calcium/magnesium combos use magnesium oxide because it's cheap, but magnesium oxide has only a 4% absorption rate. Magnesium glycinate (which I also buy from BulkSupplements) is absorbed much better. 2) Since the body needs calcium and magnesium in a 2:1 ratio, this is how the combos usually supply it. But most peoples' diets contain much more calcium than magnesium - especially true if you eat a lot of dairy (as I do). Thus supplementing at 1:1 gets you closer to the ideal ratio. But I've never seen a combo supplement in this ratio, and the low absorption rate of magnesium oxide makes the listed ratio wrong, anyway. If you are taking calcium citrate (high absorption rate) in 2:1 ratio with magnesium oxide (very low absorption rate), you're really just taking a calcium supplement. 3) The calcium magnesium combos usually come in such large capsules that I gag on them. I'm not a good pill taker. I prefer to make my own capsules using a smaller size I can swallow. I don't like taking lots of pills, but I like gagging even less. (I've tried mixing calcium powder into drinks, but it doesn't dissolve.) 4) Buying calcium and magnesium in bulk and making my own capsules (which is very easy with a capsule filler), is far cheaper than buying pre-filled capsules. So not only am I getting a superior supplement in every way by buying in bulk, it's way cheaper. BulkSupplements calcium is high quality and reasonably priced. Plus the company has excellent customer service, responding to questions quickly and helpfully. Good product, good company. Since I eat a lot of foods with calcium, I supplement in a 1:1 ratio.

Pleased with this
I need to take calcium citrate per my doctor and found the pills difficult to swallow. Just got this powder - so here’s my review. It is extremely fine powder and when I opened the bag a puff of it flew out. Also when closing the bag I tried to get squeeE some of the air out and that was a mistake! Has powder all over the counter. I fist tried this mixed in a drink - it doesn’t dissolve. If you keep shaking or stirring it stays suspended for a bit. The last two or three swallows felt gritty. It is completely flavorless which I like. I next mixed it in food and this will be my preferred way to take it. Cannot taste it at all and such a small amount per dose is very easy to mix into food. I poured some into another container that has an easy access lid and that keeps it from getting all over everything. I do recommend this.

If you need help, these products.....WORK!
First of all, let's take a moment and wait for all the amazing, well meaning hippies and planet earth enthusiasts to leave this review section. Go on, I'll wait tilI I hear your birkenstocks clop clop clop down the hallway before I begin. Heaven forbid anyone of them buy a product that isn't made from 100% organic and blessed by New Zealand made vegetarian duck farts. Yes this product comes from China, so by default everything is evil and cruel in the world and toxic and we're going to give ourselves cancer because it's not double certified and and kosher blessed by a rabbi's fart to boot. Wanting to use this product wouldn't have ANYTHING to do with the logic in seeing 10K plus positive reviews stating how these products have helped people (rolls eyes). Now that it's just you and I, I'll continue. I'm here because I was searching for amino acids to buy in bulk without fillers. I wanted something priced fair and pure. After all my searching, Bulk Supplements had the ideal products. The only thing that was left for me to do was scan through all the reviews to see if such products would help me. I have a connective tissue disorder so I made it a point to buy all the aminos that had an effect in regards to tissues of the body. I also bought Glutamine as I read that helped people with their SEVERE bread/wheat/carbohydrate cravings as I have severe bread cravings for that and dairy. I work out often and can never lost the extra 25 pounds because of my food addiction to wheat and dairy. After one day I felt a difference so noticeable I logged in and bought the other remaining 4 amino Acids I needed but did not buy before do to not wanting to spend so much. But since they work and it seems most of these will last 6 months to a year, I opened the floodgates and bought everyone that was unique to me. I ended up buying about 8 products on my first purchase 6 weeks ago. Coming from someone who has tried adding coconut oil, vitamins, probiotics, nothing ever seemed to make much of a difference. It wasn't until I started taking amino acids that everything moved forward for me in my health goals. THIS......STUFF.......WORKS! I also have chronic fatigue syndrome and I'm seeing progress in my energy and health. I want to add that I also bought the Potassium citrate. I can't EMPHASIZE ENOUGH HOW MUCH THAT ALSO HELPED ME! I work out every other day and I use the sauna for about 40 minutes. In conjunction with taking aminos and now getting about 5K (4700 the average, but I workout hard) mg of potassium citrate, I'm feeling so much better! Even in my workouts I had to increase the weight by about 20 percent on the machines I use, and I even had to add more reps onto my sets! My original workout felt like I never even worked out since taking these products! Now even with added weight and reps onto my workout regimen, I still feel like I didn't quite workout enough! But I keep my increases minimal as I don't want to go ahead to much. But I can't flipping believe how much these products have boosted what I can do in the weight room AND not feel like a gassed race horse when I'm done. This stuff is literally the MAGIC powder. And with how its helping me with regular health outside of working out and also keeping me from falling off on binge eating on pizza and ice cream, this stuff is it. I'll always be a consumer of these products. Since I already ordered 3 times from this company (LOL) in the last 6 weeks, I got three free sample products to try that I WOULD NOT NORMALLY BUY! But since they also helped, I ended up adding them onto my next order! And to those people that complained about getting the free samples being just a marketing ploy and other nonsense, BUGGER OFF! There are products I wouldn't have bothered to try but since I got to try them for free and I liked them, I added them onto my next purchase. Because they worked for ME. You're getting a product that could very well last for a month and free shipping, all you have to do is leave a review if you like it or not. Yes, what a scam bulk supplements is running (rolls eyes). As of now there are two other products I plan on ordering from them, the Melatonin and the BCAA 3-1-2 product. Again, I'm only doing this because of how much positive gains I'm seeing in my health and workout. Another bonus was I could never eat enough meat, I was always hungry for tuna, turkey, beef, I could never get enough and my grocery bill was always high. Now I can eat a normal serving of meat and I feel like I don't need anymore thanks to taking the Acetylcarnitine and the Creatine, components that are found in muscle tissue. How I take my supplements is as follows- I take one serving size amount of each one in the morning. Then in the evening I take one serving size of only the msm, ascorbic acid, acetyl carnitine, Arginine, L-Glutamine, D-Ribose, potassium citrate. I take this because of budget, I want what I have to last longer, but these products are most important in keeping my cravings at bay so I take them once more at night. You can take some of these 3 times a day it says, but I only do them all once, and what I just listed twice. If I was rich and could afford $300 in supplements every 2-3 months I'd take them 3 times day. But since I'm not I make them last :) In summary, what I take is what I feel my body needs. And I am 100% happy with the effects I have experienced. And as for odors like some people described when they open their packages, well.........Some of these are chemicals, aren't they? MSM will smell like a sulphur like smell, correct? Unless you want added scents to mask things (which I don't) I honestly have not had a problem with that. And for the foil cosing bag, what I did was go to Walmart and buy a package of the large sized mason jars and I use those to hold my amino's in. I can't see knocking off a star because of the foil bag seal. Just pour it in a wide mouth mason jar and get a measure spoon to dish it out. If you're wondering what products I've used with this company, if you're reading this review then this is the product I purchased and have in my pantry. I'm not rewriting a review for each item, so I am copying and pasting a review to use on every item I bought from them. Any other questions please ask, but I find that as a person with health issues and food issues these items have helped me beyond anything else I've ever tried.

Questionable purity
The purity of this product is questionable. The label for calcium citrate is in VERY "small print "on the back of the package. This product did not have external wrapping. The company just put a label on the outside of the package. The package label does not look like the Amazon advertisement. And I was uncertain that it actually was calcium citrate. I had to closely examine the back of the package to determine if it actually was calcium citrate. I took the product the first day and had ,"severe" headaches and very bad leg and hand cramps causing difficult mobility. I am not prone to headaches or cramps. I cut back the dose the next day to see if it had the same effect and still had a severe headache. Upon intensely analyzing the package it did not indicate that it was third-party tested, non-gmo, or anything that indicates that it was safety approved. This made me wonder if it has heavy metals. The "calcium citrate" packaging is aluminum. I know citrate is acidic and wondered if the aluminum packaging affected the toxicity of the product. I threw it away the next day. I would not say that this product is safe for ingestion.I suggest that this company submit to third-party testing for purity, and possible heavy metals. I advise you to select a product that indicates on the package that it has been third party tested for purity. Heavy metals have been found in too many products these days.

Better than pill form
This is so much easier than trying to swallow huge pills. I need to take at least 1200 mg of calcium a day. It is gritty and dry; does not dissolve in liquids but tolerable adding it to yogurt or ice cream. It would be helpful if they listed the mg per teaspoon or tablespoon. I emailed the company a few weeks ago asking for this but no one has replied. Three stars for not having this info available and for not responding
