The Ginger People, Ginger Pickled Sushi Organic, 6.7 Ounce

My favorite ginger for sushi! I’ve tried a few others, nope. Some ginger has red dye😆 yuck. This Ginger people one is absolutely delicious. I wish the jar was bigger. Kinda expensive but the quality is superb. Fresh. I love ginger and this is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE!!

Since my husband likes adding ginger to sushi at restaurants, I decided to experiment with adding some to our own homemade vegetarian sushi. I was amazed at how amazing this ginger tastes. It has the most wonderful flavor and isn't even hot. The ginger is more on the sweet side, making it a great ingredient for sushi lovers who don't want anything spicy. It's also great for anyone who loves ginger but doesn't want to peel and cut it themselves. After having bought this brand four times, each jar is consistent. It always has the same wonderful flavor and doesn't have unnecessary ingredients (something natural and organic households like mine worry about). It also has the prettiest color, but this is more something I expect from pretty much every ginger brand. This ginger's flavor and its ease of use in recipes make it a must in my household!

This stuff tastes 10 stars! No garbage ingredients, no worries on added flavors or colors. Just pure, delicious food.

I'm used to the somewhat raw, bitter ginger to eat with my sushi and this was a bit too sweet for my taste. My husband thought the same without knowing my opinion initially. The quality is good but I don't think it need the added cane sugar in the ingredients - or as much as they added.

Love it and has no food colorings like the others!

Great sushi at home one dollar at a time

I love sushi ginger, and I appreciate the organic ingredients, but the taste and formula of this brand differ depending on whether it's made in China or Fiji. The taste is what you'd expect if made in China. The taste is different than what you'd expect if made in Fiji. To reduce the total grams of sugar in the formula made in China, I drain the liquid and refill with bottled water. I drain the liquid from the jars made in Fiji, but I don't refill them with water. Due to the difference in taste, I only use the jars from Fiji in a fruit salad with yogurt, cherries and/or bananas, etc.

First problem: each of these 3 small, 6.7 oz jars of marinated ginger has 1 gram of sugar. That much sugar has overwhelmed any taste of ginger and turns the entire content of each jar overwhelmingly sweet making it taste only sugar and nothing more. It would be much easier, quicker, and cheaper if you love sugar to dissolve 1 gram of sugar in 6.7 oz of water and drink it. Second problem: Only 1 of the 3 jars has sliced ginger. The other 2 have grated ginger. That equals false advertising.
