I have no doubt that it will provide more than a token effort against dropping the speaker on a hard surface from height, but to project your speaker from bumps, bruises and scratches whilst transporting the speaker it is fantastic. The case itself is visually quite attractive (I especially loved the red panels) and it fits the speaker like a glove. The fact you can fold the case flat makes it great to stash back in your backpack or out of the way when you're actually using the speaker. You can't really use the speaker with the case on (not that you'd want to) and it is not going to protect the speaker against water other than a minor accidental splash/spill. Overall though, a great case from Sony and despite being a little more expensive I think it is great value. Review: A great case for your speaker on the go! - Very happy with this case.
