This Flash Packs A Punch! Great Features At A Good Price...
The Godox TT685II-C flash packs quite a punch for the price. This flash is capable of TTL so it's important to pick the correct one that corresponds to your brand of camera, and to mention this right up front, this unit has Godox's built-in trigger system so this flash will work with other Godox flashes and can be triggered by all of Godox's 2.4GHz triggers. To put into perspective the power of this flash - with respect to light output, it's comparable to the now-discontinued Canon 600EX RT II speedlight which sold for almost 4x the price of this Godox flash and was considered Canon's flagship flash while it was in service. The power of this unit is 76w/s.When comparing the TT685II to the more expensive V1 and V860III (which are 1.5x-2x the price of the TT685II), the TT685II is very comparable in build quality, light output, and feature set, although the four AA batteries in the TT685II won't yield the same number of full power flashes and the recycle time is slower. But, the TT685II still performs very, very well in this area; in testing I was able to get 347 back-to-back full power flashes and recycle time was roughly 2.5 seconds at full power, slowing down to 3 seconds as the battery charge weakened. I would recommend using rechargeable batteries as they perform better than your standard akaline batteries in this unit. This unit has the now-standard quick release lock, which I'm personally not the biggest fan of. While it is convenient, there's no tension adjustment, so if the unit feels somewhat loose in your hotshoe or flash bracket, you can't tighten it down further like you can with the old school twist lock. Although I didn't experience any issues with the unit feeling loose or not secure, I still prefer the twist lock. This isn't a negative to the flash though, the design is the design.I was disappointed that Godox didn't include any sort of LED modeling light on this unit. Now I'll be frank, the LED's on most of the Godox flashes aren't that useful in most situations, but they work very well in low light situations to help with focusing and to provide a touch of light to the scene to help you and your subject see. Again, this isn't a negative because this can be seen before purchasing, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. In terms of consistency in light output and color, this flash performs very well. I didn't really notice any meaningful (in real world use) differences in light output and the color temperature of the light was fairly stable. It is not as consistent as the Pro line of Godox strobes, but for most users of this flash, I don't think the shifts would be problematic at all. In fact, just about any speedlight in this price point (and even some of the Canon flashes) experience shifts in color temperature occasionally. I use both Canon and Godox flashes, sometimes together, and I've never experienced any issues that were either noticeable or not correctable. While this unit does offer HSS, I found the power loss to be more substantial than other flashes I've used, so I wouldn't recommend using HSS if you don't have to. To be fair, using HSS with a speedlite is rarely a good idea regardless of which brand you use, because they already don't pack a lot of power to begin with. One cool feature that I wasn't expecting to see in this unit was the channel scanner. This feature is very, very useful in helping you find a channel that has the least amount of interference. This is very handy when you're in a situation with multiple people using Godox flashes; you can have cross-fires and misfires when multiple people are using Godox flashes on the same channel. Nice touch at the price point of this flash.Unrelated to the actual flash itself, I would recommend purchasing this from the EACHSHOT store on Amazon; aside from the flash, you also get color gels and a flash diffuser. While you may not use them often, you're essentially getting them for free when buying through EACHSHOT versus using B&H, so why not go with the option that gives you free stuff?! They also offer an array of light stands, camera mics, and video lights at great prices compared to your bigger retail stores. Definitely worth a look. All in all this is a very capable flash that I have had zero reservations in using on client jobs. For the price point and what this flash has to offer, it's a no brainer, especially if you're already in the Godox ecosystem.

Great Flash
Love this flash. Far more affordable than the name brand (Canon, Nikon, etc.) and in my opinion, easier to use. I also bought a remote flash controller for off-camera flash action and it’s been perfect. Highly recommend this brand.

Take your AAs out of your flash when storing!
I use this flash occasionally for candid event photos as I typically use studio strobes. In general it works great as a replacement for my Canon brand units. Same issues you'd usually have with TTL flash so I can't fault the flash - it's me, I'm the problem, LOL.The slave system works fine to fire multiple strobes. More features than I ever need to use personally. This is my second purchase of this flash - had batteries corrode and trash it. That said, I prefer the AAs instead of rechargable packs because I don't use them much. Just remember to pull your AAs after use!

Great flash for beginners
I really love this flash as a budget student photographer. It's affordable yet so well built (it's heavy!) and does its job well. I have a Nikon with no built-in flash, and this has been an incredible addition that allows me to take photos at night or in low-light settings. It comes with a few extra cool gadgets like a diffuser that are fun to play around with and give you everything you need to do flash photography as a beginner.

Awesome Lighting Tool
I loved how bright this made my pictures when shooting in shade. It was easy to set up and use in my Canon M50 Mark II hot shoe. Just plug and play. There is so much more I know I can do with this but the little I know has served me well. Well worth the money and looking forward to seeing what more it can do.
