The Grandfather of the Detective series. These stories are genre defining and genre defying. If you like mysteries, or the plethora of Sherlock Holmes derived movies and TV series, go back to the source. Doyle writes so plainly and precisely with none of the overly poetic and off-putting language and phrasing of the Victorian era.

Great read.
This is a classic. It's not much more that need be said. Doyle's writing is accessible, entertaining and enlightening even one hundred years on.

Sherlock Holmes: 'twas good then, 'tis good nearly 150 years later as well
The beauty of all Sherlock Holmes stories lie in the fact that the most complicated of mysteries seem to be solved with the greatest of ease by Sherlock Holmes. With Dr. James Watson as his willing sidekick, Holmes always looks to take on the mysteries which capture his fancy, and does so with a certain sense of humour which, I feel, only Arthur Conan Doyle was able to manage. The short-stories are not extremely taxing on the mind in terms of tension, but are gripping enough to keep you reading until it finishes. A very good read.

Excellent!
I love Sherlock Holmes so it's awesome for me. Haven't used the kindle app much in the past but it's taught me that I will like not having the book in my hands better than I thought.

I love all of the Sherlock books by Arthur Conan Doyle! While reading them, it feels like he is a real person!

Classic detective stories
Sherlock Holmes is brilliant and so are these stories what Chihuahuas sow Holmes at the height of his deductive reasoning. One of the first detectives remains one of the best!
