The description says for short term use. How long can you stay on these?

Personally I do not use FodMate everyday. Only on the occasion when I am not sure what is in the food I am eating, like eating out, which happens only like 2x per month. Or if I want to cook up something special which includes high fodmap ingredients. I figure I can use this product forever under these circumstances . . . safe bet is to check with your nutritionist or contact the company. I am happy I have this product!!

Why does someone need a physicians referral to buy this on the microbiome website but can buy it outright on amazon? is this legit?

It has to do with the type of vendor’s license Microbiome has. Even though most of their products don’t require a prescription, they don’t have a retail/direct to consumer license, so they only sell at a wholesale price to practitioners. Even a licensed massage therapist or chiropractor can get an account with them, not just physicians. On Amazon, they are able to sell straight to consumers under Amazon’s retail license.

In what organism are the enzymes produced? Yeast? Bacteria?

While the manufacturer needs to answer this question, this person is asking HOW the enzymes are made at the factory. And, yes, they are typically made from bacteria or yeast.
