This was a perfect fit for the butt stock on my Remington 742 BDL. I was concerned that it wouldn't fit because of the Monte Carlo style stock, but everything worked great, it was super easy to install, fit was snug all around, and the extra cushioning in the butt pad is a MASSIVE upgrade compared to the 1/8th inch flat plastic nutt pad that came stock I've been dealing with the last 30 years. Sure wish I knew about this product earlier! Eliminates way more recoil than I thought it would, the thickness and design handles that. Works great for eliminating recoil and could even help cure someone of flinching!

I recently got back into shooting and sporting clays, skeet, trap, pheasant shoots etc. I purchased a clay thrower to get me back in and get practice at home. The first weekend I destroyed my shoulder, 100 rounds, 90 clays and some pretty decent bruising (thanks largely to blood thinners). I have attempted recoil pads in the past but generally they irritate me as they will not stay in place and I end up tossing them to the side. I saw this one and saw that it had pretty high reviews but I still had my doubts on a claim of 70% reduction of recoil from a shot gun. I decided to give this thing a try and in one shot, all my doubts were busted. No pain, almost no recoil, shot after shot I was amazed. I think 70% might be under estimating the amount of recoil reduced. Spend a day shooting well over 150 rounds. No bruising, no pain, no stiff shoulder. I let a few of the other guys try it and they were amazed as well. Both went on Amazon to purchase one. No point on being macho anymore I take no pain over being stubborn. Installation and fitment are great. I put the small/medium on a Remington 1187 Special Purpose 12ga with no issues, fits snug and does not move. Hope this helps some other people.

I mean, it’s a limbsaver, well known to reduce felt recoil! Had to research the fitment for my Marlin 1895 SBL 45-70. I ended up with the Small/Medium. Fits perfect! Some people have gone Small or Medium, which I feel would either be too tight and not line up as well, or be too loose. This size slipped on just tight enough over the stock pad, extending it even more and providing that much less felt recoil! Lines up well too, not looking too small or big. And easy enough to remove if need be. Grippy, looks stock enough, great color, and easy to install with a little effort.

I purchased this limbsaver pad for a Remington 700 5R chambered in 300WM, When purchasing the rifle I had a hard time deciding between the .308 and the .300WM but like any man I went for the more powerful version, The rifle is not really built for hunting. It is heavy, I mounted a huge scope on it..etc. I built it for long range shooting and maybe occasional hunting if need be, at the range when you are putting a box of ammo down range the recoil can be rough on the shoulder and I was enjoying shooting it less and less to finally just having to put it away. I decided to order this and give it a try, Once I got the pad I just slipped it onto the butt of the rifle which it fit perfectly and actually, the extra LOP puts me right where I really want to be so that was a nice addition. I was able to take the rifle out and shoot it yesterday and with the first shot I was very impressed at how much the recoil was reduced. Shooting from a prone position I put 10 rounds through the gun with not one bit of discomfort at all which means that I do not have any tendency to flinch and I find it also much easier to keep the target in my field of view through the scope whereas before it would bounce back enough to throw me off. I am very pleased with the product and I will probably look into getting one for my shotgun as well. The pad blends in with my stock much better than the photo on this page because it is a black and green synthetic, so honestly I don't think it looks bad on there. It is a soft rubber so it does not slide on surfaces as easily as the factory pad.. Harder to get in and out of my foam case. If you are afraid to buy one of these because you think people will make fun of you at the range.. You know.. real men don't need one of those...blah blah blah... It does not matter who you are, if you can reduce the amount of felt recoil and make the gun more comfortable to shoot you are going to shoot better with it.

I bought this to get the length of pull that is badly missing on a Ruger 10/22. The model small fits nicely on the 10/22 and gives the length of pull you need for an adult size arm. The butt on my Ruger is straight and this fit the bill. If you have a concave butt, the company says to go with limbsaver model# 10550.
