A really good set for the price
Bought for a 4 year old. Lots of animals and a really good setup to play with. Easy to build with a little adult help and plenty of fun to play with. Comes with a card backdrop to play in.

Duplo
Lego Duplo blocks are great for little ones who love to build. My nieces love them; they are safe and easy to hold.

Large set with bespoke pieces, playmat a little flimsy, good for all ages!
My kids have a few of generations worth of Duplo from the 80s (uncle), 2000s (cousins) and their own, the two older girls aged 4 and 7 still love playing with it and mixing and matching parts and characters (much to my disdain after I spent and afternoon separating all the different sets!). This kit was much bigger than I expected and they thought Christmas had come early - they went through logically and made the set as per the instructions and were up early again to play with it - it only took about half and hour and little one who is 18 months was also keen watch and play with the characters. It has a number of bespoke parts which could be a good or bad thing - it's kind of the way most Lego/Duplo sets seem to be going, however kids adapt easily enough and can mix and match (as an adult I can't help but want to keep sets separated!) so that it doesn't limit their creativity. There are also a lot more colours appearing which is nice to see. This set has 7 different South American animals, though I doubt they would all be seen together in the wild! My only concern as soon as I opened the box was the flimsy cardboard pop-up playmat which has the background printed on it - younger kids will struggle to open this out without tearing and also there is a risk of it getting trodden on or scratched so compared to the Duplo pieces which are pretty 'bullet proof' I can see tears when the playmat gets destroyed in time. At £45 this is a pricey set for everyday but as a gift would be ideal.
