Good quality nuts, nice and soapy
These soap nuts are good quality and do a good job. I've found that they wash laundry even better if you put about 5 in a jar with hot water, shake and let them soak for about an hour then pour the soapy water into the washing machine drawer. I also add a little oxygen bleach powder into the drawer which kills germs and brightens the laundry.EDIT: I have since discovered that they are AMAZING for cleaning the cooker top (mine is a stainless steel gas hob) and also cleaning glass pyrex roasting dishes- they clean off burnt dried oils/foods like no other cleaning product I have ever used! To clean I put about 5 nuts in a jar with hot water and leave the nuts to soak about 30 mins. Then I shake the jar and pour the soapy liquid into the pyrex dish and use a stainless steel pad and wipe around the dish and the crud just slides off! You can put more water into the jar and shake it- the nuts when they've been soaked keep yielding soap. When you are done put the nuts on a plate and let them dry out. You can use them a few more times, then after that put them in the compost bin.

Soap nuts for laundry
These soap nuts come presented in a sturdy cardboard box with 2 little cotton bags and some printed instructions, the nuts are a little sticky and you put a small handful in one of the bags and make sure you tie up tight because if it comes undone you will be picking bits of shell of your washing which is rather time consuming I can tell you.The clothes that I washed were not what you call dirty but they came out nice and fresh but not the same fresh as there was no smell, even on the clothes I don’t use fabric conditioner on there is usually still a fresh clean smell from the laundry detergent.I like the idea of these soap nuts but I have not had anything really dirty or stained to test them on yet and I will be interested to know how it does compared to normal detergent! The box has 200g of soap nuts and you only need a small handful 5 half shells for if you are in a soft water area and washing at 30 - 40 degrees or in a hard water 6-7 half shells, if washing at a higher temperature 60-95 degrees you will need 3 half shells for soft water and 4-5 for hard water. If you are in a soft water area the 200g pack should give you approximately 240 washes and in hard water approximately 160 washes and when you have exhausted the soap nuts the remains can be composted.

They work
They do what it says on the label, and actually clean clothes. The only slight issue I had was the bag to put them in in the reading machine, because it comes open and lets them out. It simply needs further tying, such as with a rubber band. Also, as they say, if you want nice smelling clothes, use essential oils, or even a little conditioner!

Needs better bags to put the nuts in
Whilst I applaud the commitment to minimising packaging, even recyclable packaging, to an absolute minimum, it would have been nice to have had the nuts within a paper bag inside the box. They are loose within the box, so if taken unawares as I was they spill out all over the floor when you open the box, and more importantly several of them are stuck to the outsides of the two linen bags, which is a bit of an annoyance to have to prise them off.The two small linen bags to put the nuts in are a bit rubbish frankly - in particular the drawstrings to close them up are really really thin and very straggly with lots of loose threads, and I think that they are going to completely fall apart very quickly. It's a real pain to say the least to undo them again if you tie them up, creating more wear and tear on them and creating more straggly threads in the process, and if you don't tie them but just try to draw the strings tight as you can without tying, then nuts will still escape regardless and you will have small pieces to pick out of your clothing and stray halves of nuts to pick out of the bottom of the drum, as well as apparently losing some of them completely. After my first wash in which I put 6 nuts in a bag, there were 2 halves left in the bag and I picked enough halves and pieces out of the drum for a further 3 nuts, so fully 2 of them must have broken into small enough pieces to have got washed out with the waste water. As far as the actual cleaning goes, they do seem to work fine on items with light soiling - everyday sweat and that. But they just need proper bags to put then in, not the very poor ones you get with this.

Rubbish! Don't waste your money.
I'm always looking for healthier, environmentally friendly options. However they should actually work. This is a load of rubbish and I'm glad I didn't waste my money on a larger order

Honestly do not like them.
These aren't for me and my lifestyle! You put the wash nuts in a small white drawstring bag and throw them in your washing machine, and no matter how hard I try tying the bag they come out all over my washing - and I find myself picking through the wet washing before drying it. I'm too busy to keep doing that so I stopped using them. They also have no scent and I didn't feel that things were clean using them - particularly because I had to go through my 'clean' laundry picking all the casing out.The ethos of environmentally friendly I am all for, but they just don't work with my lifestyle....perhaps if the bag was more secure it may resolve the mess issue.Verdict: Cannot recommend.

Easy to use and effective.
I love these! They do exactly what they are meant to do, get my laundry clean and without adding any nasty pollutants to the environment. They don't leave any scents to which I might get an allergic reaction and when they are "spent" I can compost them.My only minor issue is that the cloth bag tends to come open in the wash (no matter how I tie it), so I have to pick loose soap nut shells out of the clean laundry before I dry it.

Great ecological solution
Had to do research into most natural washing options as my son developed skin burns after i used dettol laundry sanitiser. Using these soap nuts for a month now and find them doing great job at washing. They create plenty of foaming even at 40 degrees. No smell at all even without using any conditioner.

Suficiente
Una caja de las 2 que pedí, había unas nueces no muy correctas. Alguna ya gastada.
