On my french press if I want a strong cup I would do 1.5 to 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per 8 ounces. For a medium strength I would do 1 tablespoon of ground coffee. I do not have any way to say what amount of whole beans you need to achieve the amount of ground coffee you need.
