It works and it's great.
It's pretty heavy-so be aware of placement. We have a "bar area" where it will be placed in our home. Keep in mind that you may want to be near a sink due to cleaning maintenance. As with most counter top ice makers, there is no connected water source-you have to pour in about 8 cups (2 liters) for a full drawer of ice. I've let it run overnight on the kitchen counter (it's fan is noisy & output is pretty warm) and results are great. NUGGET ICE in abundance! I've package up the ice & threw it in the freezer. Use the provided ice tray if you plan to leave it in the drawer. Not recommended for overnight - ICE WILL MELT. Keep it mind: it's an ice maker-not a freeze. I do not recommend for outdoor use. Best for indoor cocktail bar setup. And the nugget ice is great!!!

Loud and short life span
I was definitely disappointed with this product, especially considering the price. When we first got it we were excited and had no trouble with it. About 2 weeks after owning it, it began to make a super loud banging noise and would produce less and less ice. It finally got to the point where it was only making a super loud banging noise pretty consistently with no ice being produced at all. We had to just unplug it. I hope contacting the company will be easy and smooth. as far as product rating only, I definitely wouldnt purchase this again. Te large size is nice and when it was working it produced good quality ice, again it's just so loud.

Exactly what I wanted but….
We have been using it for about a week now. It started off really quiet, but has become more noisy in a week span. Is it not meant to be used constantly? It’s located on our kitchen counter with plenty of ventilation on both sides. We love the ice and efficiency of the machine. After one week, noise is my only complaint!

Great Ice Maker but not perfect
Honestly it is a great ice maker! Makes ice fast evenly and holds the ice for a long time. My only complaint currently is that at times as the machine is pushing the ice out it will get stuck and make a loud popping noise that I can hear from upstairs. Other than that it’s amazing

Horrible product
This ice maker worked great for a while. It was always loud but it did make nice small cubes and was efficient. Then after a little over a year (interesting how it was right after the warranty ran out) it started leaking water and became even louder then stopped working. As others have said it is poor quality, super loud, and starts leaking after a fairly short life span. For the money we spent we expected a lot more. Don’t waste your money. Look at another brand. This one is garbage.

Seller has replied
This morning once it was done making ice it started pour water out of the bottom and flooded my counter. Then when I opened the ice drawer there was all these black and white plastic shavings in it. I have contacted homelabs and they are finally sending replacement under warranty.

Update 05/22/24: Replacement Broken Again!
January 15, 2023: We purchased this item on November 8th for $351.80 and today is January 15th and it has already stopped making ice! I have had ones for $99 that lasted years so this is completely unacceptable! I called customer service and they no longer accept phone calls so I'm waiting to see if they respond to my emails! I will update this review when I have an outcome to share! I contacted customer service and it was replaced immediately! Thank you! **EDIT** UPDATE 05/22/2024: This time we got 4 mos of working time and today the loud screeching noise started and the machine has stopped making ice! It's unreal that a machine that is a few hundred dollars will not last over 4 months. It's sad but at this point I'm guessing I'm just going to cut my losses and not order from them again! Sad because it makes great ice but it just bad mechanics and just doesn't last.

OK, not great
We had previously used the GE Opal nugget machine and liked that but unless it's found on sale those units are VERY expensive. Ours eventually went belly up so we thought we would try this one. We have had it running since the beginning of the summer now and although it makes ice well enough, the ice container doesn't appear to keep the ice as cold as the ice seems to heavily clump and melt into one large block that requires some force to try to break it up. All these types of units will have ice melt in the ice reservoir/drawer, of course, but our previous unit did not have this clumping issue like this. Another thing about this unit is it can be VERY loud, even at only a couple of months old. We have it located in the kitchen so that helps, but while watching TV in the next room we still have the, "What is that noise??" moments where it is the icemaker getting loud. The cost is nice vs the name brand option and it puts out a similar amount of ice, but if you are not using a lot of ice all day you run the risk of the clumping which, depending on your tolerance level, may not be worth the savings. I have been told to find another one of the original units we had, or at least try another system.
