Hand-Crafted Wooden Keepsake Box with Hinged Lid, Wooden Storage Box

The description said 'Walnut" but I think maybe it is Ash wood. The patchwork patter is even prettier than Walnut or Acacia. If I'm right, it was a very pleasant upgrade. Box was perfectly made, lid fit exactly, all corners were sharp, no excess glue, very good quality control and attention to detail.

My husband made this gorgeous handmade chess set and we bought this box to hold the set so we could give this as a gift. The box is very well made and is a beautiful complement to the set. The outside was lovely. The price was good for the quality of the box.

This box is as seen with no deviations what so ever. Very high quality craftsmanship. This was gifted to me and what a beautiful gift it is. Thank you to makers of this item the quality is unmatched next to others. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a box that is both useful and decorative.

I have purchased similar acacia boxes from other sources, but they do not compare with the quality of this box. 7/26/2023 Second Smilco acacia box received. Again, the box is beautifully crafted, but this box was clearly a return from another purchaser. The seals were broken on the packaging and there were significant fingerprints that hadn't been wiped off the box's finish. Other than fingerprints, I could not see anything wrong with the box until I tried the lock. It's non-working. For my purpose, the lock is irrelevant as I add closing clamps on the front. I will keep it, but would suggest that other purchasers who need a locking box, test the lock immediately. I received my third Smilco acacia box and it's once again beautifully crafted. On 10/3/2023 I received a box in an unsealed carton and it has scratches through the finish. I was able to use 0000 finishing steel wool to buff out the scratches, prior to adding a coat of flat acrylic varnish. I have purchased and have on-hand five of the Smilco acacia boxes through 10/22/ 2023. If it were necessary for all the locks to work faultlessly, most of the boxes would have been returned to Amazon. Moments ago, I ordered #6. I know now that any box which is delivered in an unsealed box will either have a non-functioning lock or surface scratches. 10/24/2023: I received the box ordered on 10/22. Again, this was an obvious return. It was in a plain thin cardboard box, not the Smilco factory box. The normal bubble wrap protective bag was missing, as was the key to the lock. I have several of the keys from prior purchases so I tested the lock and it is non-functioning. Amazon shipped it in a white Amazon plastic bag, not a corrugated carton. There are some fine scratches, but they are on the underside. When these boxes are returns from other purchasers, it should be clearly stated.

If you want a nice box to store moments that can be locked with a simple lock this is a great box. It is extremely spacious and can accommodate a large amount of items. I use it to store keepsakes and photos that are from my significant other. While the lock is simple and could probably be easily picked if one was to try it does offer some security if you are tying to keep prying eyes off of private but not important items.

I bought this box to put my husband ashes in. He died June 23, 2023 right next to me in bed at night of cardiac arrest at age 60. This box is very special & important to me, I loved him so... It is absolutely beautiful, well made, truly love the different shades of wood, as he would old have like, simple but elegant & smart looking, great hardware & terrific finish. I don’t usually write reviews but when I saw this box & opened it, I surely thought I would be disappointed but instead it took my breathe away. Tengan cuidado, no lo pidan, si su idea es regresarlo por defecto físico mejor NO LO PIDAAAN!!! Yo lo pedí por qué confío en las devoluciones por Amazon, el detalle fue que el vendedor lo solicita de regreso por paquetería extranjera, y el detalle es cuando lo quieres regresar, por qué no te deja hacerlo por DHL ni estafeta, y solo te da la opción de Cadena internacional, el problema es que me piden factura y tres copias de la factura, aparte que cualquier cosa es arreglándose con el vendedor, ya que hablé por Amazon y me dijeron que no se podía cambiar de paquetería y tenía que ser por la que me dijo el vendedor, nada menso, por qué para regresarlo es difícil, y sin factura imposibleeee, así que mejor opté por quedármelo, por que por los comentarios muchos siguen esperando su rembolso y no les llegó, así que por eso preferí mejor quedármelo, de eso a nada mejor aunq sea tenerlo ante tantas dificultades, venía con algunos detalles, mínimos pero lo bueno es q si cierra, aunq vi varios comentarios de que no cerraba bien en algunos y otros con defectos casi tooodos! Pero bueno, mejor ahórrate ese dinero, compra manijas para cajas y mánda hacer tu caja con tu carpintero de confianza,(eso iba a hacer yo desde un inicio y hubiera sido una mejor opción además de apoyar al comercio local) te saldrá mucho mejor quizás el mismo precio o más barato la neta, y va a ser algo que te guste y que te sientas satisfecho con el resultado

It's a lovely box but the interior of the lock is misaligned so the key is obstructed and cannot engage the lock. Looking at previous feedback, the seller must know this but keeps selling the item. The price should be reduced accordingly and the product description should make it clear that this item is known to have a defective lock. Even with a paid Prime membership, Amazon has lacklustre return options which either require me to travel 40 to 50 kilometers to return the item to a drop-off point, or I have to pay for a courier to return the item. The Amazon site interface is designed to make it difficult to reach anyone at Amazon to discuss the matter but the customer can eventually find the online 'chat' option. That leads to an unnecessarily protracted interaction with the Amazon representative, who - after much prompting - offers a minor concession to settle the matter. Not a great customer experience.

The size of the box is just right. I purchased it to keep my costume jewellery items and it serves its purpose.

These measurements have nothing to do with the actual measurements. - It has only one key - You should think twice about locking the box with that lock. I wouldn't trust that the box can be unlocked again. - The box itself is very well made. You can contact any other seller if you have questions – it's impossible with Amazon as a seller. Ich würde nicht darauf vertrauen, dass sie wieder geöffnet werden kann.
