Zombie Socialization
We bought this for our three month old Great Pyrenees/Collie puppy. She 's very content with her own family but displays a timid skittishness with strangers. She looks like she's part polar bear cub, part sheep, and part teddy bear.. or like a cloud with a face.. so of course every time we took her out to socialize her she would get bombarded with moaning Ooooos and awwwes and looming outreached hands. Like a shuffling zombie mob that feeds off of fluffy cuteness. Needless to say these experiences made her even more frightened and she had all but completely moved in behind my legs. So I had try to maneuver away from the swarm with 32lbs of white puffball glued to my calves. Talking to the transfixed crowd didn't seem to work. It turns out it's hard to convince people that while dogs usually just love them...this one wasn't so easily won over. So we employed operation red vest. Best decision ever.It came quickly. Packaged nicely. Stiched Strongly. Well made. Fits true with wiggle room for growth. Like fresh hope in a box.So equipped with her new zombie apocalypse protective vest we ventured out into the world. Straight into their dens! I was worried because now she just looked extra cute in her snazzy new duds. Like a limited edition stuffed animal complete with authentic vest action. I figured people would just ask themselves why that little cotton ball was masquerading as a dog in training. But to my delight and surprise 85% of people were very respectful. We encountered mostly smiling nods and scrunched up awe faces. Still a few moans here and there but they controlled the urge to reach out. A few people calmly spoke to me and I was given the chance to politely explain that we were trying to show her that strangers were no big thing. Just another part of daily life. Like passing scenery, and I mean that in the nicest way possible. By the end of the first day she was boldly approaching people on her own, she even let a few people give her treats and pet her. We've been continuing this for the last week and she's shown marked improvements in bravery and social skills. Great Purchase. No complaints.

This is the one you've been lookin for
My pup is training to be a mobility and retrieval assist service dog for my spouse. I had a lot of trouble identifying a quality vest to identify that she is in training. As soon as we had her temperament test and basic obedience completed, I purchased this vest, and I'm pleased with it!The construction is very well made, heavy nylon canvas and nylon web straps securely attached to the vest, thick plastic easy release buckles, and heavy duty metal D-ring. The reflective band across the chest extends all the way across, but this is at the smallest setting. I will update if anything changes.Patches on both sides of the vest are secured with hook and loop style attachment, and replacement patches are available. Eventually, We'll be able to continue using this same vest with the 'service dog' patches in place. My 4&1/2 month old dog's chest measured 21", so I purchased a size medium. It is a little loose, but she will quickly grow into it. In the meantime, I use a leash and collar, and have her wear the vest for identification purposes. If you are contemplating training your dog for service or therapy, visual identification like the vest interrupts the "puppymugging" before it begins. This vest fulfills that purpose beautifully. Highly recommended.

Vest Stops people from Petting or asking to Pet
I have an 11 wk old standard Rat Terrier (currently 8.4 pounds) that is in training. I at first purchased a size small as my puppy's girth measured 14.5" but the small was still a good 2" too large. I kept the small and just ordered an XS which did fit SO much better. I ordered this as my pup is a service dog in training and needs to be socialized. The problem I had was that people see a puppy and EVERYONE wants to pet him, adults and kids alike. It makes it hard when my puppy was raised on a farm and needs to be socialized without people hovering, looming or potentially instilling fear into a pup that needs to be well adjusted. This vest has stopped any and all people from wanting or even asking to pet, thus making it easier to train and socialize properly. So THANK YOU so much for making a true XS vest. Not all pups or dogs that are in training, or will be a service dog is the size of a German Shepherd or Labrador.

Good vest just check the the sizing carefully
I have an adorable small dog that people love to pet. The problem is he is a shelter dog that was abused and is fearful of strangers. We have been training him to overcome his fear and he has made great progress. He now enjoys people he knows but still has fear when strangers attempt to put their hands on him. So until he is completely over his fear I decided to try a vest with a "do not pet" tags. So far most people respect the tags and most people already know you should never rush up to a strange animal and try to touch them. The vest itself is well made and has adjustments for the front and bottom. The handle is a nice touch (easier to hold back a dog using the handle rather than a long leash). The issue I have is my dog has an 18" girth so I went with the 14-18" size. It turn out to be too small and even with the adjustments fully loosened it was tight. I then ordered the next size (19-25") and it was too big, so if you have an in between dog just be aware the jump from 14-18" to 19-24" is pretty big. Its not just that the straps are longer shorter, the actual vest is a lot bigger on the 19-24 compared to the 14-18. So if your dogs girth fits in the middle of the range you should have no issues.
