Venom more lethal than ever
One of the legendary names in metal, Venom have experienced a real up and down ride, with Conrad "Cronos" Lant on bass and vocals the only constant, and the lifeblood of the band, much like Lemmy is Motorhead as far as most fans are concerned. This outfit that gave the name if not the exact style to black metal and was the nastiest gnarliest metal you could get for their first couple albums, with absolutely horrible sound, especially on the debut "Welcome to Hell" has enjoyed a rebound of late. Cronos has regrouped with a truly exciting and scorching band with Dante on drums and Rage on guitar, who can outplay any guitarist whoever stood next to Cronos. The fresh energy has revitalized Venom and made them truly dangerous again, this time with real chops and a great sound to boot. Best of all, Venom know how to rock, something so many metal bands have forgotten how to do. The Satanic cliche can be overlooked when the music on "Fallen Angels" rivals any competition, matching Motorhead's best moments at times, and showing other outfits that like a lot of older metal outfits, they seem to find inner strength one wouldn't expect. Likewise for Sodom, Accept, Kreator and other long time metal bands who are still too dangerous to be taken lightly. While the newest Venom album "From the Very Depths" is even stronger, "Fallen Angels" is indeed a fine return to form.

old-fashioned, raw, and brutal!!
this is simply a great album. Venom is a great band, very influential. it's firsts 3 albums are raw, strong, heavy, and even they are terribly produced, you can't avoid to love them. in the last years venom continues to release wonderful records, each one of them i really like. but the sound is so different, since they are super produced and with an ear-blasting sound...well, thhis album is wonderfully produced, but the lyrics annd music are so primal and raw and fierce as those on the first albums.. tracks like "lap of the gods", "sin", "nemesis", and fallen angels, to mention some, are just great. melodic, yet strong and heavy. from the first time i heard this cd, it became one of my favorites from the band. and i do not know why, it was like the less-promoted one between it's last 4 productions, "metal black", "hell", and the new one, "from the very depths".if you love the old-fashioned raw metal from the first three venom albums, don't miss this one!! i really believe you will love it.

Watch out for Fallen Angels! Venom old-school dark metal back with an appealing bite!
From start to finish, this effort pleasingly delivers dark-iry-raw-punk'd-powerful riffs and quickly conjures up as many devils as one can count! The title track and album art alone made it very intriguing for me to explore! Still not a big black-style metal fan, but have learned to appreciate bands like these especially when they offer up a direction-oriented release that has something to follow like this one! After a few listens to their recent material like Metal Black(2006) and Hell(2008), Venom seemed to have fallen down into a bottomless pit of directionless confusion re-spewing up pukish-hellacious-noize pollution!?With Fallen Angels, the revamped trio of Venom featuring original lead vocalist/bassist Cronos and newer co.(Rage and Dante), seem to finally be back on track 666 offering more sadistic, old-school sounding firestorms with an appealing bite into 2012! Just got the album and was very pleased! Enjoyed all the tracks/no major clunkers INMOP.! Great to hear Venom still can deliver when they want to! Currently, can only check out the sound bites on Amazon UK.Watch out for Fallen Angels! Well-worth getting before said time runs out/hurry now/URGH!

A Limited Edition Unit/Issue. π
Another good release of these guys. So it is recommended to old and new Venom fans. The hit probably is the first track with its catchy lyrics. The music could be a tad bit louder. I am using the disc for personal usages. That's also a bonus being a limited edition unit. π₯πΏππππΊβ

this stands up better than some other post-reunion outings
Wish it was faster and thrashier overall, and coulda used more guitar and grit in the mix, but overall, this stands up better than some other post-reunion outings.

Welcome back to hell
Venom is back with a new album that leans more towards the old punk/heavy rock sound of their classic releases than their two or three let-down previous releases. And it is pretty much the same for the songwritting, definitly more punk/rock oriented than trash metal.Glad to hear that wild bunch back with a dirtier sound! But as Cronos says himself: "No big surprise".

Raw, rabid enthusiasm!
Great album! Sounds like a demo, not too polished. That bass tho! So loud and gnarly. The Satanic Grooviness is infectious. Best lines are: "What's in the manger? kill that thing" and "Nemesis stabs you in the bollocks". Punk's not dead, indeed.

Awesome Venom Album
This was the first venom album I had bought in a long time and was not disappointed by it, it was absolutely brilliant and as a result I went on to purchase a lot more of the back catalogue that I was missing. Top notch metal

Great album.....not quite as great in my opinion as Black Metal or the marvellous At War With Satan (few albums are) but still awesome.
