I upgraded to this larger $49 blue model, and it is so much better than the smaller one. Everything about it is bigger and easier to use. The new handle is the best part. It gives wonderful leverage, making it so much kinder on my hands and wrists when cutting vegetables. The larger dials are also very easy to turn and grip. Plus, the vegetable reservoir is nice and big, so I can chop a lot more food at once without having to stop and empty it out. If the smaller models hurt your hands, this one is absolutely worth it. I just love it! So much easier to clean!!

For breakfast, I like to make oven potatoes, but I used to get frustrated for a few reasons: 1. My knife skills weren't great. 2. As a result, my cuts were always uneven. This meant that the cooking times for my potatoes were always uneven. Some of my potatoes would come out undercooked and hard, while others came out wonderful and soft. If I left them in for a longer period of time for the bigger cuts to cook, the thin ones would get rubbery and a little dry. I always had to take out the thin pieces before the thicker ones cooked, which meant that the temperature of the food would be uneven as well. I can't believe that after all these years, I have now decided to get a mandoline slicer. You can choose from a variety of settings and thicknesses; I always keep it between 2-3 (which, yes, you can put it between numbers to give it more customizability), and I haven't had issues with uneven cooking for my potatoes since then. Now, I am able to make oven potatoes every single day for breakfast (I'm pregnant, so I'm always craving them now), and it's been such a breeze chopping them. I don't struggle, it isn't hard to cut, and it's very simple to assemble and take apart. It comes with a brush to clean the blade as well, which is nice. The best part is that you don't have to worry about accidentally cutting your fingers like with other mandolines that involve you moving the potato manually to get a cut. There's a suction at the bottom of the mandoline to keep it in place so it doesn't slip and slide everywhere, and it flattens for easy storage. I don't know what else I can say to convince you to get this product other than it's great. I wish I would have gotten it sooner; it would have saved me a lot of hassle trying to properly cut thinly sliced potatoes without accidentally making them see-through or thick on one side of the slice and thin on the other. :')

I sliced 2 entire large yellow sqaush in about 20 seconds and each slice was identical in size which makes it easier to fry, great product

I bought this slicer for my husband. We had another slicer, but it was not safe and had a lot of extra parts to keep up with. We found this one and liked the fact that it was easy to store and easy to clean. It is very sharp and slices thinly potatoes and other vegetables. It is easy to assemble and fingers are well away from the sharp edge. It has a tray underneath for collecting sliced food. It stands upright rather than horizontal which in my opinion makes more sense. It it made of high quality plastic and seems like it wil hold up well with proper care. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a safe and effective slicer.

Great product! Slices thin and thick variety of food items, stable on counter, solid , easy storage minimal bulkiness- worth the price

The slicer is quality but all the plastic accessories are cheap and will probably be landfill long before the the slicer. The vegetable hooper is too small for bigger veggies, you have to slice them up pretty good just to get them in the slicer. The blade is not as dangerous/exposed as some other slicers when using it, but be very careful when you're cleaning it. For me, this slicer is my go to when there is a lot to slice, but it's not worth the cleanup when there is a small amount to slice.
