Excellent, high quality bowl gouge.
Big improvement over average bowl gouge I had used up to recently getting this tool. Used on a midi-lathe with great results and easier to use overall despite being a larger chisel. Turned 10" Sapele bowl and looking forward to more with this gouge.

Fantastic Gouge!
Great product, balance, durability, price, and fast delivery. The best Fingernail Bowl Gouge I've ever owned.

Excellent tool
I "graduated" from pen turning to bowls. I quickly realized that I needed a decent gouge and Robert Sorby seemed to be a good value with a good reputation.I was not disappointed. It had a small nick on the flute but it still cut very well.Eventually I invested in a Wolverine Vari-grind sharpening system and now it keeps a razor sharp, perfect edge.Just note it is a finger nail grind so it's very aggressive. Use with care!

Am fine piece of equipment
No. one, it arrived on time. Since I had used tool of this size I was expecting what I received. The tool was 90% sharp but this is to be expected since all woodworkers like to put their own edge on tools. The heft and feel of Sorby tools is about as good as it gets. Are there others bigger and more massive? Of course but you will pay a great deal more. My father worked on lathes 75 yrs ago using gouges of much less quality and still did amazing work. We place way too much emphasis on executive toys and not enough on skill. I suggest anyone needing a gouge, skew or roughing tool to purchase a Soreby

Awesome tool
This gouge makes my old ones look like toys. Takes and holds a good edge and shouldn’t ever break.

Good Quality: No complaints
My starter gouge was coming to the end of its usefulness and I wanted to get a replacement for a reasonable price. This was not crazy expensive and for a weekend wood-turner does its job quite well.

Quality tool!
This is my first quality turning tool and it’s amazing the difference between this and my cheap gouges. Wood chips fly off the tool makes my turning so much easier.

Bowl gouge
Recieved on time and in good condition. It is a nice heavy made bowl gouge with a nice fingernail grind on the edge , giving it fours stars because it still had to be honed but probably would of worked fine.
