GEM CPAL3 Aluminum Head Push Pins, Aluminum, Silver, 3/8" (Box of 100)

They're fine.
It is true these are not as sturdy as the aluminum push pins you buy at an art supply store. They are much lighter in the hand than the art store pins, and don't have that nice, flat top the pricier ones have. But they are fine. They do what they are supposed to do. The "tine" or whatever the sharp pointy pin part is called is also a bit flimsier than the high-end push pins but you get so many, if one or two bends and becomes useless, it doesn't matter because of the quantity of them. They do what they are supposed to do, and the price was right. I would order them again, if they remained at this low price.

Great for stained glass projects and whatever else your imagination can think of!!
These pins are the go to item for stained glass projects but I also use them for around the house. The only problem I had with this item was the box had no type of seal to keep it closed. When I finally received these with the other parts of my order the box was open and the pins were all over the place. What was supposed to be a quantity of 100, I only received 47 pins. I looked at the shipping box and noticed that some of these had to have come out during transport (one corner of the box looked like it opened up far enough for these to get out). Other than that I love these pins they can be used for almost anything! Good to use to hang things up in a rental unit, leaves only a pinhole and leasing agents love that their units aren't damaged!

Not what I was expecting. But they will work.
These are slightly below par.. Judging by the stock photo I imagined they would be a little more bright, shiny and clean.. About 95% have the needle straight in the last 5% are in slightly crooked. All of them have rough casting lines down the pieces. At first one might think they are plastic by how they look but they are indeed metal.Mine had 103 in the box with one not having a needle at all. Not bad..I've attached images so you can see the actual appearance.Overall, I'll look elsewhere next time.

Sturdy and worth the $
I love that I can actually use a hammer on them, when necessary, without breaking them-- unlike the delicate, cheap, plastic push pins that are more common. I hang canvas paintings on my walls and I routinely move them around. These aluminum pins do a much better job of supporting the weight without falling or drooping.

Solid aluminum push head but smaller than common plastic pushpins, worked fine though.
Didn't seem like aluminum when I open the box, so I put one in my vice and cut it half with a hacksaw. Yep, solid aluminum push head for sure. However the push head is a little smaller than common plastic pushpins. The pin part is strong and sharp. Easily pushed into a scrap piece of 2x4. Used these to hold a heat shield and wet rags to the joists when soldering copper pipes and fittings. The aluminum head stood up well to the propane torch.

They hold small objects like jewelry to a foam board in a shadow box , look grey and plasticky.
I am filling a wall mounted shadow box with vintage style trinkets such as costume jewelry. i am using a mixture of "gold" and "silver" pins depending on the piece, and rather than silver-tone metal these are more of a grey plastic, but they do the trick. One through a chain, and the piece is secured

Meh
Not exactly the quality stated. They all look like they were removed from the mold, while still soft, with a screwdriver. They arrived in a very banged up little box scotch-taped shut and were missing some tacks. The tacks I recieved are definitly not made of plastic and they didn't make my fingers dirty. They also showed up several days ahead of the other items I ordered that day. Maybe the other items didn't want to be seen with that packaging. To be honest, packaging doesn't bug me that much, not like anything was broken. I don't like being stiffed 3 though. I'm not found of how cheap they are compared to the ones I was trying to replace that I bought 20 years ago. But the modern age is all about cheap quality and I don't know that I'd fare any better from other sellers.

I did finally find my Gem aluminum headed pins and the difference was amazing. The Advantus Aluminum Head Push Pin even looked .
These push pins have the shank glued into the head; some were not even dry when I received the box that was supposed to have 100 pins but had only 75. When I pulled the pins out the shanks often remained in the wood. The heads are placed on the shanks in crazy angles...very difficult to push them straight in.I would never buy another Advantus product based on this one interaction. I did finally find my Gem aluminum headed pins and the difference was amazing. The Advantus Aluminum Head Push Pin even looked crude with rough edges compared to the Gem Aluminum Head Push Pins.My disgust runnelth over.

Box arrived mostly empty
Box arrived with only 63 pins in it, not the advertised 100. But even if it arrived with all 100, the box is surprisingly small, and you don't get a lot of pins for $12.

The Perfect Pin
Perfect for my needs. Even working with the soldering iron it doesn't burn.
