EMBRYOLISSE Smooth-Active Cream I love Embrolisse - except for one thing - the scent is usually overwhelming. I think this version finally got that right since I could barely detect the normal overwhelming florals. I have super dry and sensitive skin and normally rely on ointment-type creams to get me through but this is just amazing and keeps my skin hydrated all day. Most people would use this as a night cream but this is just perfect for me during the day. It also works well with my foundation and other skin care products. This thin cream comes in the classic metal tube much like toothpaste and can be rolled up as you use it. The tube comes in a box and is safety sealed. Use the cap to puncture the tube. I prefer tubes like this since it keeps the product clean. I used about a dime-size blob for my face and neck. It feels wonderful and didn't irritate my sensitive skin. This expires in 2.25 and should be used within 12 months of opening. I didn't like it. Not thick enough. No improvement in my skin.

I have tried several skin care products from Embryolisse, and they have all been of very good quality and work well with my dry, sensitive skin. This cream is a bit lighter in weight than I was expecting so it seems perfect for applying in the morning when I want something that will absorb readily and not leave an oily sheen on my face. In addition to excessive dryness, my skin also tends to get dehydrated easily and it is often rough and reddened, especially during the winter months. This cream is mildly hydrating, works well to alleviate dryness, and helps reduce redness and calms my skin. It causes no irritation. I like the way my skin feels when using this and a plus is that this doesn't have the added fragrance. It is simple and effective for most days although once in a while I do have switch to something a bit thicker and heavier for more moisture. I think this will excellent for the warmer months. It is a bit pricey at a cost of $30.00 for a tube containing only 1.35 ounces, but I only need to use a small amount and it seems worth it to me. The cream arrived boxed and properly sealed.

This is fragrance-free, which is a pleasant surprise because I am not a fan of their overpowering signature scent. This brand offers many great products that I tried over the years but their scent was always an issue for me. Embryolisse Smooth-Active Cream smells faintly plastic-like but it’s not off-putting since it’s very subtle and it dissipates. I noticed that it is common for unscented products from across different brands to have a plastic, glue, or wet type of smell. The cream has a lightweight, lotion consistency that makes it easy to apply to the skin. It’s good as a daytime moisturizer. It’s non-sticky, non-oily, and non-irritating. So far no breakouts. I applied at bedtime and my skin felt soft all the way to morning. This isn’t rich or heavy compared to their other skincare lines. The aluminum tube came inside the manufacturing box that wasn’t sealed on either ends but it was sealed underneath the lid. You puncture the opening with the lid, similar to toothpaste back in the day. Expiration date (02/2025) is printed on both the box and tube. Overall, I like how it makes my skin feel soft and smooth but I don't like how it causes my skin to pill sometimes. As I rub the cream into my skin, dead skin cells ball up/shed. Maybe that's a good thing. I just don't like feeling a build up of gunk in my fingers. Is this an exfoliating effect? It’s odd because I never experienced this from a face cream before. I have only experienced it once in my lifetime so far from a body lotion. Would I repurchase this? Not sure yet. (Update/edit: Nope. I do not miss the pilling.) I love trying new products and there’s always something new on Amazon Vine to try. The only time I would repurchase a skincare is if I witness something miraculous or very obviously beneficial. My combination skin that’s prone to hormonal acne has yet to experience that. I don’t know why so many beauty/skincare brands forget to post the full ingredient list on Amazon. It’s important! EMBRYOLISSE Smooth-Active Cream 1.35 fl. oz. I have oily but aging skin and find that it's tough to strike a balance between moisturization and causing breakouts. I feared this cream would be too heavy, but it's not! It's quite hydrating and moisturizing, but it really is appropriate for all skin types. Very glad it's unscented, as that in itself helps keep skin from irritation, redness and breakouts. The patagonia root also helps fight redness.
