Ahmad Tea English Tea No.1 Tagged Teabags, 100 Count,3922-1

I've been on a quest to find a good everyday black tea that doesn't cost a fortune but actually tastes like something. It's been a journey. For a while I was buying VAHDAM First Flush and Second Flush Darjeeling and blending them myself to balance the floral notes. Great tea, but expensive and honestly a bit much for a daily cup. Lipton English Breakfast was the budget option, but it had this peppery, harsh taste I couldn't get past. Twinings? I had high hopes, but it just tasted flat and hollow - like tea-flavored water with nothing interesting going on. Then I tried Ahmad Tea English Tea No.1. There's a subtle hint of bergamot here - not full-on Earl Grey perfume, just enough to add brightness and interest. It has actual depth and complexity. It brews to a nice amber color rather than that dark murky look I've learned to avoid. No astringency, no peppery bite, no bitterness. Takes milk and sugar beautifully. Here's the strange part: it tastes familiar, like I've been looking for this exact cup of tea without knowing it. Comforting in a way I can't fully explain. At this price point, for this quality? I'm done searching. This is my tea now.

Simply put: our favorite tea. And we are big tea drinkers. Good flavor. Decent price and value. If you like English breakfast but want something slightly different (maybe a little crisper) try this!

This is a delicious, beautiful tea to drink. It has the scent and burgemot flavor, just like Earl Gray tea. It's really robust in flavor and great for after dinner or anytime tea. Best to drink without milk or sugar. Anyone can try it with milk and sugar and I might try it myself. The value for money spent is perfect and aroma and color is nice dark rich flavor; not strong like other teas. I like it a lot. Overall, definitely five stars for Ahmad Tea English in my taste.

After the dust (they called it tea) i used in my college’s dining hall this is everything. Half a year later, I’m already used to having a cup of a rich black tea, yet it still holds amazing. Can brew strong, unlike the teas i tried in the grocery stores in the US. Perfect with milk, just like the tatars wanted it

I’ve been meaning to try Ahmad’s English Tea No. 1 for a while and the tea itself did not disappoint. This is a flavorful, reasonably robust, and relaxing tea that I think works well as an afternoon or evening cuppa. It is a blend of Ceylon, Kenyan, and Assam, though the latter is less evident. There is also bergamot, but it is just a touch, much less than the Ahmad Earl Gray variants. In fact, it’s so little bergamot that I’m not sure I would have been able to identify it as such if I didn’t know it was included in the blend. It brews a dark cup with a dry, earthy aroma and a hint of citrus from the bergamot. Taken straight, it is full bodied, crisp, and bright with fairly low astringency. It isn’t particularly strong but neither is it an overly gentle tea. I find it well balanced. The bergamot mostly registers as brightness, with a light and rather pleasant citrus finish. It takes milk very well, resulting in a richer cup that tastes like a particularly bright English Breakfast blend with a subtle floral essence. It also makes very nice iced tea and cold brewing brings out a bit more of the bergamot. I prefer this tea in the afternoon but I think it could also work in the morning for those who aren’t AM Assam groupies. My only real issue is the packaging. Considering how good Ahmad’s loose leaf teas usually are and how they seem to largely cater to tea drinkers from the Middle East and Eastern Europe, I am at a loss as to why they use American style tea bags. Personally I hate these. I hate the stupid string and staple. But mostly I hate that you only get 2 grams of tea instead of the UK or middle eastern standard 3 grams. If you are used to British teabags or you brew your loose tea strong, you may find this tea too weak simply due to the missing gram of tea. I recommend using 5, yes 5, teabags when brewing a pot if you are a regular tea drinker. If brewing in a mug, (my regular one holds around 12 oz), one teabag can stretch enough but you will want to leave it for a good 8 minutes or so. As much as I like the tea, and to be sure it is way better than teas in these bags at American supermarkets, this packaging will probably prevent it from being a regular for me. I may seek out the loose leaf version of this instead.

I love Ahmad teas! This is one of my favorites. I love how it tastes. It makes a good strong cup or a weaker one depending on how long you steep it, of course. I highly recommend this one, the English Breakfast Tea and the Peach and Passion Fruit Tea.

My favorite tea for both iced and hot. Great scent and taste. What more do you need?

This is a refined yet well-priced black tea, and is my preferred "ordinary" tea. I like high-end teas as well, but this is fine for my first morning (or later) cuppa'.

Very unstable can't even withstand kids shoes

Having lived a good 15 years in Sri Lanka before returning to Europe (Germany), I have struggled to find a high quality (and affordable) ceylon black tea. Having tried and tested many (and also through the usual Middle Eastern shops in nearby towns), this is by far the best black tea - and more affordable than in these shops (I have 2 packs delivered once a month - going through at least 6-8 tea bags a day). It is not too "Tar-like", the flavour is strong and flavorful but not bitter at all like some cheap black teas where you just get the tannins (mind, you, since I am accustomed to very strong and fresh tea I do use 2 tea bags), and it tastes like what you come to expect in Sri Lanka. I have tried other Ahmad teas but this is, by far, the best! So recommend specifically the no. 1 tea. It says it has a touch of bergamot - now, I don't mind earl grey once in a while but really, there is no strong bergamot flavour in this blend whatsoever, - but the flavour has great depth (which could be from a touch of bergamot)! Another great tea brand is Jaf tea (the premium selection) but this is more expensive.
