This is the revised version of the book I used as an educator in the 1970's to share the beauty of truth and poetry to my African American students. Its beauty, its words, its message is still relevant in the twenty-first century and It should be shared with all.

Love these poems! Gave the book to my teen cousin because I thought it would be good for him to hear some positive messages from African Americans.Seller got the book to me quickly, which was awesome as well.

This is a very accessible/moving collection of African American poets - I recommend it for high school age and above.
