Q: My son is almost 2 years old and 23 pounds. Would the large size be the best one to get him?

Imagine baby makes great products. Are the large the ones with the purple trim? If so, then they will fit your son good. I have those and my son is about 35lbs and they still fit. Even if it’s a bit big, you can always fold the front down for extra protection where boys need it. They are super large when you get them but shrink up nicely in the dryer. They are just as good as the Green Mountain ones I have, but maybe about 1” shorter.

Q: Is this 100% cotton or is it a cotton/bamboo mixed? I'm confused by what I see on the cover and the description.

These ones are unbleacbed cotton. They would say bamboo and not unbleached .

Q: If using in a trifold insert style would the xsmall or small fit in a diaper cover for a while? Once baby is on med or large diaper cover setting?

I don't remember which size I purchased but I would suggest getting the yellow edge (maybe it was medium). When my baby was very small, I could wrap it around her using a snappy and add the cover. Then when she outgrew that, I could trifold it and lay it in a cover. It seriously lasted until she was two and potty-trained!
