Mrs Zack here-Updating my review here... yes its a great product but they increased the price from $16.95 to $19.95 over three days from my last purchase. What is up with that! So one star now! I have ordered this and will return to order it again and again. I saw a review in which the person said this was a good product but the casing was like eating wax paper and this would cause this person not reordering this pepperoni. Laugh OUT LOUD !!!!!!!!!!!! This person did not take off the second wrap! HAHAHAHAHA yes You ate the wax paper! There is a clear plastic outer wrap and you open that up and then there is a very thin what appears to be butchers wax paper around the pepperoni and it is so soaked with the juices and perhaps during the curing process, it has taken on the color of the pepperoni and has shrunk tightly around the pepperoni.Anyone who knows how to EAT basically can see that this is an outer layer! SO people ignore that rating, this pepperoni is good stuff, very spicy, very greasy it is a dry cured meat is not like your standard store bought pepperoni. This has the texture more like one of your convenient store pepperoni sticks. It is about 15 inches long and I want to say close to 2 inches in diameter. You would need a very sharp knife to cut it. I would if I were you, I would use much less than you are used to using on a pizza. This product really does have a strong pepperoni taste which is part of the charm of this form pepperoni. I find I use more black olives, green peppers and onions on my homemade pizzas and I use a very small amount of this product diced and sprinkled sparingly, as it does have a to me, the taste of like 3 slices of pepperoni in one 1/2 inch nibble. I find it a nice way to stretch the cost of making pizza. So if you are one who loves the meat taste I think then you would be satisfied with so much less on your pizzas as a result of this product. When I compared the cost of buying the 3.89 per 3.5 oz of sliced pepperoni at my local Grocery store and how much I use less and compared to this is roughly for 16oz $5.50 , I find I save a considerable amount of money and it makes it worth while ordering this. Try it yourself you will find this out for yourself. Oh and Please ignore Wax Paper PERSON! LOL LOL LOL LOL ! Hahahahahahahahaha!

I just love my spaghetti dinners. And if I must say so I have become pretty darn good at them. My own home made meatballs, sausage, eggplant, and pepperoni in meat sauce. A lot of people don't add pepperoni to their sauces and spaghetti dinners, but I do as my Mom and Grandma always did. It not only flavors the sauce, but its delicious to eat right along side your pasta after simmering all day. Although I have used many different kinds of pepperoni over the years, (and pretty much liked them all except the Hormel brand), I have to say that this Bridgford is my favorite. Its true that its different than most pepperoni you will encounter. Its bigger, spicier, and a whole lot fattier. Just handling it cold or at room temp will leave your fingers red with grease. Although when I serve it with crackers as a snack I just leave it as is, when I am using it in my sauce I microwave it for 30 sec or so to remove the excess grease. My Mom actually did the same thing when I was a kid when her sauce was simmering on the stove. She would periodically go to the pot and skim the grease that had floated to the top from the pepperoni and other meats. With no access to a microwave back in those days that was the next best thing. They are remembered as some of the best meals I have ever had. And although its true that this pepperoni comes with a thin paper sheeting around it that must be removed first, it peels off very easily after you get it started, and, keeps the pepperoni fresher for a longer period of time. I never have a problem with it...In conclusion, this pepperoni isn't for everyone. Its bigger, softer, and greasier than many pepperoni that you may be used too. But after draining some of the excess grease in the microwave and simmering in the pot, or on top of my home made pizza, its the best and spiciest. Not really hot at all but very flavorful. Although it can be found at the BJs Wholsale Clubs here in NE, they can run out, and it comes at a very good price here on Amazon..And its always been a bargain among other pepperoni. I always have a supply of it on hand for my pizza and spaghetti dinners, and I highly recommend it..

Peyronie was really good and had a great flavor

I love this pepperoni. I find it delicious, with a pleasing texture......but not always. I've now ordered it off Amazon a couple dozen times, and three of those times I had to return the product to Whitefoot, as the texture was just off somehow; it tasted mealy, grainy.....to their credit, they have immediately replaced the order every time, shipping me a replacement at no charge. I've complained to them about this issue with consistency: there is no excuse for a company not being rigorous about their quality control so that the product is always, always, the SAME. I hope they will look into this; they say they will, but who knows? Anyway, like I say, it's a great product.....most of the time.

I have been buying this pepperoni for a couple of years and it’s always been perfect for my pizzas

I have had Bridgford sliced pepperoni in the past and enjoyed it but this version is not to my liking. I'll eat it but it is a flavor that is not what I'm used to when eating stick pepperoni. Super greasy too, like wet with grease.For the record, I am a big pepperoni fan. I eat the stuff almost every day and definitely several times a week. I'm giving it three stars because I realize it is just not to my liking but others might love it. It just tastes weird compared to other brands I have had and even their bagged sliced pepperoni I have had.
