So far I have not had to charge the battery !
The Hedge-cutter is light, easy to use, and has very good teeth. I have used it to cut around 20 yards of hedge, one side only, and clear paths with thick weeds (such as cow parsley and teasles) growing through. I have also used it as a rough grass and weeds cutter taking swathes out of what should be a wildflower meadow, but is full of hogweed and dock... I charged the battery pack the day it arrived, and I have not yet re-charged it since... and I have used it to do all that work, over two days!!! Thanks to Mr. Foxi's review, I too got "can of STIHL Superclean which is expensive but specifically made for hedge trimmers. It's a resin solvent with lubricant". It came from Northumbrian Garden Machinery, Hedgeley Services Powburn near Alnwick. I treated it before and after use, and it is excellent stuff, very well worth it. I am convinced that using Superclean facilitates and perhaps improves the cutter. I am so pleased that I can use the cutter so easily.

So far so good.
I received the order 2 days after purchase so that was a good start. On first handling it feels fairly light even with the battery attached. There is a safety switch at the back of the trimmer which needs to be depressed first and then you press one of the three buttons on the main circular handle to activate the cutting blades. Generally I found it reasonably quiet and easy to use considering this was my first time using an electric trimmer. Cutting through thick branches was not a problem, some of them were 2cm wide and the trimmer cut through them effortlessly. On a safety note I would strongly advise wearing eye protection glasses especially when cutting through thick thorny branches and wearing thick gloves too. Prolonged use of the trimmer may cause temporary shaking in your arms as the trimmer vibrates a lot when in use. The shaking does go away after a while so don't worry. Anyway would I recommend it, of course it's a big Yes from me. It's a bit more expensive than the other ones out there but worth it due to the high quality of the product. Hope this helps :)

works very well for lighter stuff
It's great, the battery lasts a really long time, really convenient not having a cable. It's lighter than I expected and I don't have any trouble using it for a long time but some people might find it a bit heavy. Successfully trimmed several years growth of the neighbours massive conifer. It doesn't easily cut branches more than about 1cm diameter - however you can get through thicker stuff if you back off and have several goes and don't push too hard. The auto reverse & retry action works quite well - it sort of gives you a warning that it's going to stick and gives you a chance to back off. Also the blades near the tip work better for tough stuff. Great that I can use the existing batteries and charger I already had for my drill. I'm thinking of getting the strimmer and jigsaw to match now.

Hedge cutting with ease
If you already have batteries that work with Bosch appliances this is a very good option for a hedge cutter. It has so far taken care of our hedges, worked on small tree branches and did a good job of clearing invading brambles. Overall very happy with it and the gloves are an added bonus.

Decent power and lightweight
Cuts hedges as well as corded model I had previously. Lightweight and well balanced.

Failed... just out of warranty... but wait...
September, 2024 I bought this from Amazon back in September 2021. I have used it once a year since to trim the box and yew hedges that I have in my garden. In total, it has had less than 10 hours of use. I was very happy with the way it performed, and looked after it well, always cleaning and oiling the blades, and recharging the batteries before I put it away. Apart from a few scuffs, it looks almost new, and I hoped it would outlast me. I was using it two days ago to do my annual hedge trim, but when I come to use it again today to finish the job, it's dead as a dodo. It's just one week over its three year warranty. The batteries are fully charged and work fine in my other Bosch 18 V tool. The hedge trimmer isn't even attempting to run, so diagnosing the problem is impossible without stripping it down. I can take the time to parcel it up and have it collected by a courier arranged by Bosch, and then repaired by them for (a maximum repair price of) £66 while I sit on my hands, or I can buy a new one with next-day-delivery. Bit disappointing for a brand like Bosch. Update/2024.09.18 I sent the failed hedge trimmer to Bosch at no cost to myself and was surprised when Bosch informed me that they wouldn't be repairing it, but sending me a new replacement instead. This arrived a few days after I'd sent in the failed one and is an updated model of the same. I hope this lasts longer than the original, but I can't fault Bosch's customer service in this case.

A great efficient trimmer
I bought this trimmer without battery as I already have 2 Bosch 18v batteries with a drill. I was initially a little concerned that it wouldn't be as good as a mains powered one, but my fears were soon dispelled when I tried it. It easily cuts through leylandii branches up to about 1.3cms thick and I have found it very easy to handle and manoeuvre. Battery life (as far as I can tell so far) is excellent. As a footnote, the gloves that come with this are described as XL, but I found them a perfect fit for my definitely medium sized hands. They are excellent quality and I personally find them comfortable to wear while using the trimmer.

A chore has become a pleasure
I loathed cutting the hedges & bushes! The blades of my plug-in couldn't cope with thicker branches which meant starting & stopping, using secateurs, then restarting, whilst always watching out for the cable. It would get tangled in branches which made the likelihood of accidentally cutting it, even greater. So, I searched for something better, battery powered, and able to cope with slightly thicker branches. This is the one I chose and what a brilliant machine! The dreaded chore has become a genuine pleasure, so much so, my son bought one and agrees wholeheartedly. The problem now is, judging when to stop! I can fill my bin in less than 20 minutes of fun - so I haven't had a battery die on me yet. It's s so lightweight and manoeuvrable and no cable to cut! I can stand on ladders and not worry about being dragged off when the cable gets fouled (and I fell off), or over balancing. The thicker branches are no longer a problem as the top 10cm of the blade have a different set of teeth and just cut through everything with a bit of patience and ingenuity. Really thick branches 2+cm have to be cut with secateurs, naturally, but the start-stop of previous years has ended. So have stoppages caused by jamming. The blades have not jammed - so far. I thoroughly recommend this machine.
