Best Budget Red Dot Optic
I have always been a fan of red dots but finding a solid budget option can be a bit difficult (sub $100). TruGlo has always been a trusted brand in my book, my experience mainly comes from the archery industry where their reputation with me holds true there as well, and I think they continue to offer a solid product at an affordable price. I bought this red dot to mount a cheap Citadel Warthog 12 GA I picked up new for cheap, it's semi-auto and has a 3" chamber so I decided to make it a turkey gun. Being that this optic is under $50 I'm not concerned with bumping it or tossing it around in the field and this scope takes it like a champ. Extremely simple install and very bright dot with several brightness settings; this scope really packs a punch for a budget optic. I'm confident I will buy more down the road for other firearms.

Good value, bright
I have 5 of these. very good on crossbow, 44 mag pistol, and high power rifles. Oldest is 21 years old. Good battery life; but I duck tape a spare battery on to it in case it runs out in the field. Quite rugged little thing. fits on Weaver or Picitinny rail.

Can't use this scope
This is made to go on a Pic rail, not on a traditional Weaver style slot system. Pictures don't show how it mounts to gun and don't show that it has the crossbar that goes in the rail slot. I bought this to go on a non-rail gun and am disappointed that it is unusable. Actual scope is different than product picture, too. Rheostat is actually on left side, not on top, and lens covers open to side, not up. I bought it because I have other Truglo scopes that work well.

Good quality for the price
Nice sight, plenty bright even in full sun. Took adjustment and sighted in quickly. 5 moa sight dot is large, more suited for a shotgun but I was able to get 1 inch groups at 50yds. I have it mounted on a Savage model 42. A few reviews mentioned the screws being soft, however they proved more than sufficient. Torqued to 20ft/lbs per the instructions the sight is more than secure. This spec is fairly common for scope mounts. The caps are a little cheesy but so far work.

Not for 12 gauge shot gun. Can’t take the pounding.
I bought this sight back in the spring of 2019 to put on a brand new Wheatherby semi auto shotgun for spring Turkey. I was uncertain if such a inexpensive red dot sight could hold up to the beating that a 12 gauge shotgun can dish out but there were plenty of reviews on Amazon that said it worked fine. Granted there were several negative reviews that said it didn’t hold up and to “save your money”. Well, I decided to take a chance. I never got to go Hunting or even fire a round through the gun until Last weekend, July 4Th 2020. I decided to sight it in (I did bore sight when I mounted the sight). After only 5 shots the lens cracked on the inside front end of the sight. Now when you look through the sight there are 2 dots! The shotgun and sight were never dropped or even bumped. They sat in my gun safe for over a year then after only 3 Remington slugs and 2 federal birdshot rounds the lens crew and the sight is toast. What a disappointment. I would have been pretty upset if I was turkey hunting when this happened. My advice is; first, Save your money and your time, get something more expensive, and second, live-fire test it within 30 days so that you can return it to Amazon if/when It fails. Good luck if you decide to take a chance.
