Decently-priced self-powered doorbell that you can expand/pair with more chime bases
****UPDATE 4/24 - Looks like the company is standing behind their product and will be shipping a replacement. Good stuff! ********UPDATE 4/22 - I just noticed that one of the receivers no longer works - no chime, no volume, no LED light. I've contacted the seller to see if there's a warranty replacement available.****I have to say that this is a well-priced, well designed self-powered doorbell. The chime is about 3.75" x 2.25" x 1.5" (the latter measure is the thickness excluding the electrical outlet prongs) - and the push button itself is about 2" x 3". The middle button activates a blue night-light, while there are two buttons on the side, the topmost changes the ringtones and acts as a pairing button, while the bottom-most cycles through 4 volume levels. The loudest volume level is fairly loud, should be enough to be heard through a small apartment. The push button activates with an audible click when fully depressed and a small red led lights up as visual confirmation. The chime then sounds and flashes as well. The signal seems to transmit fairly well (I've got mine at the top of my basement stairs and it transmits flawlessly through drywall and wood to a chime in the second story directly above it - same applies for a rear push button). Where this doorbell shines is that you can pair the chime with multiple push buttons - unfortunately, you can't differentiate between push buttons (i.e. have a different chime for each push button), but this allows for multiple chimes activated simultaneously by multiple buttons (I've got 2 chime bases paired with 2 push buttons, so that if someone is by the rear entrance or garage door (which are close together), we'll know to get them. The chimes are fairly varied: here's the list.1) Ding-dong two-tone chime, repeated after a pause2) Westminster chime3) Knock-knock sound, repeated after a pause4) Jingle Bells beginning (not refrain)5) Descending melody, repeated twice6) Rondo Alla Turca (Mozart)7) Fur Elise (Beethoven)8) The First Noel9) Santa Claus is Coming to Town10) Memory (from Cats, Andrew Lloyd Weber)11) Yellow Rose of Texas12) Bach Minuet13) Cuckoo sound x 314) ? Several great features.
Both the button and the ringer look good — I would be OK using this as a front and back doorbell, for example. It is superb that the button side uses no batteries. When you push it, it must generate a little bit of an electric signal that reaches the ringer. So unlike most remote doorbells, you won’t have to worry about the battery or miss callers when the battery is low. The button is not hard to push, actually feels solid and nice. The ringer side plugs into any electric outlet, so it too doesn’t need any batteries. The button is larger than a typical doorbell, 1-5/8 x 3-1/4”, so make sure there is room to put it up where you want it. Comes with a very effective and strong double sided sticky pad and a set of screws, use either one, suggest screws if outside. The LED light on the ringer is bright blue, about as bright as a strong night light. The 32 different ring tones (and you can set 4 volume levels) are somewhat electronic sounding, ranging from normal “ding dong” doorbell sounds to buzzes to (mostly) snippets of music. Popular, classical, and Christmas tunes. I’m confident you can find at least one ring tone you will like, but I’m sure you would get tired of hearing the opening measure of Beethoven’s Fur Elise all the time... range is reported to be 150 meters, which seems about right, and it didn’t seem to have trouble going theough walls etc.It comes “paired” meaning you can buy several sets and they probably won’t interfere with each other, or you can buy 2 doorbells with one ringer. If you buy several and want to reprogram them in crazy combinations, you should know that it is possible to reprogram any ringer so that it responds to one particular doorbell unit — so you could have one doorbell that makes several ringers go off — but instructions are not clear about whether you can have one ringer that will respond to several doorbells. I suspect that you can do this, but I am not sure, so someone should check this out.I summary, I would say this is a really well designed and well thought out product. Instructions are a bit poorly written in English, so I suppose it’s not american designed, but this certainly is not the thpical cheap plastic throw-away type of item you used to expect from overseas designs. Very pleased with it.

One receiver goes off randomly
I got a few of these so I could have a ringer at each door. One receiver will go off randomly without pushing the button. It is super annoying and makes that one useless.Pros: can pair one button to multiple receiversSelf powered so you don’t have to replace batteries or wonder when they need replacing.Cons: cannot unpair a receiver I wanted one receiver to power the rear and side door and the front button to power two receivers. Since each is already paired, one button must double up a receiver.Major con: one receiver would go off by itself a few times an hour. These are otherwise great. To get the setup I really want, I’d need to buy another kit and scrap that button. Since one receiver is broken, that’s two reasons why I’d need to do that.If you only need one kit, it’s good. Keep the packaging so you aren’t up a creek like I currently am with a defective receiver. Also, the single button comes with a large button. The other kits look like they come with an updated slim button.
