Super-strength gypsum cement recommended where extreme accuracy and greater surface hardness are required, as in duplicator models. Harder and stronger than HYDROCAL A-11 and HYDROCAL B-11 cements, UltraCal 30 cement has the lowest expansion of any rapid-setting gypsum cement available. Has a gradual set and long period of plasticity. Ideal for splash-casting molds and models for phenolic, polyester and epoxy resins. It was designed to give the pattern making industry the ultimate in a gypsum cement tooling medium. MIX RATIO: The manufacture recommended mix-ratio of Ultra Cal 30 is (38 parts water to 100 parts) Ultra Cal 30 by weight. The average setup time is 25-35 minutes when manually mixed. Please note that parts can be in grams, ounces or pounds etc. Do not mix with your hands, A paint paddle or electric paint mixer is recommended. WARNING: This product is for making molds of industrial patterns only. When mixed with water, ultra cal undergoes a chemical reaction which causes it to harden and then slowly become very hot and highly alkaline (corrosive to skin like drain cleaner.) If mixed incorrectly this process can happen very rapidly. DO NOT attempt to make a mold enclosing any part of the body using this material. Failure to follow these instructions can cause severe chemical burns that may require surgical removal of affected tissue. Dust from products may cause eye, skin, nose, throat, or respiratory irritation. Use eye, skin, and respiratory protection in accordance with good industrial hygiene practices. Keep out of reach of children Review: Excellent Product - Ultracal 30 is the best. I received it in two reseal able plastic bags and it was placed into a very sturdy box. I went by the directions on package for mixing by sprinkling the plaster/gypsum into the water. I let it set for a few minutes for the gypsum to soak up the water. I slowly mixed it with a wood spoon side to side like the directions said and wow I had no bubbles at all. It mixed very well. I am so impressed with this product for my crafting. But what I am most impressed about is the special service I received from the seller when the product was lost. The man I talked to at Artistic Industries, the seller, was courteous and apologetic. He said he was very sorry this happened and he would FedEx it to me overnight. A bad situation turned out to be very pleasant one. You don’t find too many people like that very often. Review: This stuff is incredible! - I was so skeptical when I purchased this, but after using it for the first time ...wow! It dries very hard and is incredibly smooth without any bubbles. I couldn't be more happy about this product. I have used other types of "plaster" for molds, but this product is superior. I have another bag of this stuff in my desertcart shopping cart right now. The seller is fast on shipping and excellent on price. If you make molds of statues and such, this is a fantastic product for that.

not perfect for casting for candles
I bought this mix to make candle vessels, and it has some nice qualities. The color comes through beautifully — that raw cement look is exactly what I wanted. It also sets pretty fast and feels solid, not brittle. But I had a hard time getting a smooth finish. No matter how I poured or tapped the mold, I kept getting a lot of air bubbles. I tried a few different pouring techniques, but the surface never turned out 100% clean. So while it might work great for some projects, it didn’t quite meet my needs.

Great product, reasonable price.
Great for my rock casting, do make sure to gently tab or vibrate the sides of your container to get the bubbles out. It results in a much more durable end product.

If you're mathematically challenged....
If you're mathematically challenged like I am read this. The ratio is 38:100 water to plaster. That doesn't compute with me. How can I get 1 cup? Luckily I have a brother who is a math teacher! He wrote it out-view the photo. 2.24 oz water : 5.76 oz plaster = 1 cup mixed plaster. If you don't have a scale, buy one. The ratio is by weight. I figure 1 cup can be easily converted to whatever most of us need. 2 cups, just multiply by two (8.48 : 11.52 oz) a quarter cup, divide by 4 (0.46 : 1.44 oz) etc. Pour plaster to water NEVER water to plaster. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and then mix. I'm letting my mix sit while I type this so I have no opinions on it's quality atm but I wanted to share this while I waited. Hope it helps. Toodles.

It’s okay but not all that.
It’s honestly okay but just that. It’s not meant for cement models of teeth. Once it hardened, when pulling it off silicone mold it would break easily. Use professional dental stone it’s wayyyy better.
