I am having trouble with neuropathy as a result of my diabetes... I have peripheral neuropathy affecting both my hands and feet. My hands are such that I can no longer turn the pages in books--my fingers do not distinguish between the pages--so I have turned to reading from tablets, such as the various Kindles and Nooks. My most recent purchase was a 10" Lenovo Tablet made originally for AT&T. My eyesight is such that the 7" tablets no longer have a readable text on them for me... The ALA is reported to have a positive effect on the nerve loss in my legs. I no longer walk more than about 50 yards without getting into some degree of physical distress. And even when just walking around in my home, I tend to stagger much like a toddler does, for the same reason: I am having to learn how to walk again. My brain does not receive the proper signals from my feet, to tell it what I am doing. So, among other medications, I have added ALA to the mix. It is too early to tell if it is really working.

Husband has been using these for several years. His endocrinologist recommended that he take alpha lipoic.

I think they are helping, BUT they have a very strong smell to them. I'm not sure if they are causing indigestion, but I do know that I can still taste them for about 3 hours after taking them. Maybe TMI, but they also make my urine smell like I've been eating asparagus... Doctor said I need to take them for two-three years to help with CRPS issue. These are affordable, so I may have to stick with them.

I find it help me with nerve pain as long as I take it daily.
