Transformers Prime Powerizer Ultra Magnus
This is one character I was pretty darn excited to see become a toy. The moment I saw the figure in the corrupted Decepticon Archive that was supposedly Optimus Prime (but we all knew different) I knew it was Ultra Magnus. Who else could have passed as a leader figure other than Ultra Magnus....Gears? Don't think so. But I have another theory too. I have a feeling we will be seeing Ultra Magnus make an appearance in the show real soon. Why would his image be in the show and why would Hasbro release a Cyberverse,Voyager and soon to be release Weaponizer if he wasn't going to be a major character. So yeah that's my theory. But onto the review. Alot of people love this figure. Alot of people hate it. I ask you to give Ultra Magnus a chance because he really is a must have for your collection. Hopefully I can set your mind at ease if you have been scared off by the rumors. (I will address those rumors if you haven't heard)Vehicle Mode: Ultra Magnus transforms into a Hino Ranger. Modified Prime style of course. Hino Rangers are pretty cool vehicles because they can be built for many tasks Including firefighting, towing, and Freight Transport. Granted they still look like they came from the eighties even the newer models. This is the first thing many people don't like about this Ultra Magnus Figure is that he transforms into a weird looking truck. I personally don't see what the big deal is I personally am happy to see Ultra Magnus have his own mold in a good 10 years and not just a repaint or retool of Optimus. The vehicle rolls and holds together really well. He has plently of spots on the cab to mount his weapons. Some work out better than others. Not too much kibble except on the truck bed where it looks likes his legs. I personally do not have a problem with this because the color of the plastic kinda hides it. It blends very well. Now for the one bad rumor I can confirm. This isn't a big deal to me as it can be solved easy. The instructions and box show us that his machine gun hammer is to be in a tow truck arm like position. There are two parts that fold out from his legs that the weapon is supposed to attach too.Problem is the pegs on the weapon are spaced to far apart to go straight down into the holes. So you have to angle the connectors to the side and set the weapon in position. And it does not stay well at all. I can't confirm if this is a hasbro screw up by someone taking a picture for the box art that has Ultra Magnus incorrectly displayed or if it really should be like that. Now...there is a way to fix this and in my opinion I think this is a better look. Simply flip one of the connectors out from his leg. It doesn't matter which one. Then flip the weapon upside down and place the one peg into the connector. This give Ultra Magnus an Assault truck looking mode. Pretty cool if you ask me. AND it holds securely.Transformation is relatively simple. And it kinda ticks me off too because it borrows more than a few gimmicks used on Breakdown. So Hasbro can you tell me again why Breakdown could not be released in the U.S.? Breakdown owners this is by no means as complex as Breakdown. Not at all.I say this one is safe for children above the age of seven. Any younger the arm and leg transformations may get confusing at certain points. So parental assistance may be needed. Now for rumor number three. A lot of people are upset because the backpack doesn't peg in.Welp....it does. You have one peg toward the front of the cab and one in the middle.Simply take the middle peg and swivel the arm back. There is a connector midway on the arm bar Do it on both sides.Backpack problem....fixed.It is a very very fun transformation. Not to hard and not Bumblebeasy either.Robot Mode screams Ultra Magnus. The head sculpt looks great, I love the nod to the G1 Ultra Magnus with the Missile. The Missle CAN be attached to his shoulder really giving a G1 look. So if someone were to snag up a second missle...this would look awesome! My only issue and this kinda is another rumor, is that the stock photography shows a little more paint. The blue really is too much blue. If Hasbro would have painted him as shown in the stock photography it would have went a long way. The last rumor and this one quoting the mythbusters is Plausible. Some people have gotten Ultra Magnus's with very loose joints in the arm. I do not have this issue with mine. However if you do get one like this it's the easiest fix in the world. Simply take a drop of super glue and apply it to the ball joint. DO NOT reattach the arm until the superglue dries completely on the ball joint. Otherwise you did fix the loose joint but now you have a bigger problem on your hands. So make absolutely sure the glue is COMPLETELY dry before attaching the arm(s). Pose Ability is great and the Hammer/Gun doesn't weigh him down at all. He is a very stable figure. Love it all togetherThere is one downside to this figure. Well, It's not a downside at all for me because I hate the Powerizer gimmick. Yeah it works for some but...Hasbro should have just stuck with Mechtech. IF there are any fans of the powerizer gimmick, it doesn't work well with Magnus. The weapon is just so huge, not to mention how far the light slides...it doesn't line up with any of the powerizer glow tube things. Hasbro decided to go more for looks and detail with this guy. I really think the powerizer actually working was the last thing on their mind. For me I love it. The figure looks better this way without a ton of translucent plastic. But for some IF you like this gimmick, Ultra Magnus doesn't light up well.Now...this is were things get super intresting. His Powerizer weapon LOCKS IN PLACE!!!! simply flip the stop and boom. It's hammer time....yeah I know that was cheesy...But anyway the lock really makes this particular powerizer superior to the rest.Overall 9.5 out of 10. Add Ultra Magnus to your collection asap.

Awesome transformer
Whenever we get Ultra Magnus that is more then just Optimus Prime dipped in white and blue paint its cause for celebration. This mold is awesome, looks great, and is an all around fun transformer puzzle to transform back and forth from 'alt mode to 'bot mode. The hammer accessory is pretty cool too! Transform and roll out!

Great toy...box badly damaged.
I'd been hesitant on getting this toy while in stores. Turns out that it is a great toy. I wish I would have bought it in-store though.. I was highly disappointed at how badly the box was damaged. I'm a collector, and the box is a large part of collecting.

Overpriced
it is a cheap toy sold a premium. My son liked it but due to poor construction it won't last long.

Good but needs a little bit more.
If you are a Ultra Magnus fan this is a good addition. The articulation is good. The Hammer is the only one of the powerizer wepons that locks in place making it usable. The face details and plastic molding is quite good. He fits good (size wise) with all the other prime figures. There are a few downsides to this figure:1). The lack of color detailing. He has a lot of blue. That can be easily corrected with some Repro Labels though.2). His arm joints are very loose out of the box. He cannot even hold his wepon up. This is also easily fixed by removing them and adding a drop of super glue to the balls and waiting for it to dry then re-attach his arms and presto tight joints.3). He only comes with one missle for his arm/shoulder. He could have used a second missle for his other shoulder like his G1 incarnation. that would have looked really good.4). The soulders come loose from the tabs very easily when moving his armsWhile there are several issues, none of these effect the quality of the toy. I display him more than playing with him so with the repro labels and super glue everything looks great.I would recommend him to any collector or show fan. However, since he is comming out with a new model with The Forge of Solis Prime, if you want to play with him you could wait and see how the new design works.

Awesome figure
I love the design of this Ultra Magnus. The only problem I had with it, and it might be a Transformers Prime figure thing, but the joints for the arms don't hold up the arms very well.

Transformers Prime RiD Voyager Class Ultra Magnus
Ultra Magnus has always been a personal favorite Autobot to me, but I never owned him as a kid. This iteration of the character is by and far superior to the newer model being released under the Beast Hunters banner, as that one is just a repaints of an Optimus mold with some parts thrown in. I've had him for about two weeks now, and I've enjoyed transforming him many times. His main weapon at first was daunting to deal with, however, I found by plugging his rifle into arm it's a lot more effective, and it even works for the weapon's hammer mode. Speaking of unlike most weapons in the RiD line, this one can transform, and STAY transformed. The ball joints that the arms attach to are admittedly rather thin but they tab into his back piece, which gives them a bit more stability. His alternate mode is a unique mold, while being a truck like Optimus it is not the same design truck, and I love it. Anyone who is a big fan of Ultra Magnus should pick this guy up.

Clever, but plastic
It's amazing how this thing is designed. I wish it were metal and not plastic. It would feel so much more substantial.
