SMOOTH HAMMER.
I HAVE BEEN WANTING ONE OF THESE. GOOD TOOL- WELL MADE. EVERYTHING I EXPECTED,- FOR HAMMERING DOWN FOLDS, SEAMS, STITCHING, GLUING , ETC. GOOD WEIGHT, AND HEAD SIZES , FOR THESE TASKS. I WILL USE THIS JUST FOR THESE "LEATHER" TASKS AND WILL _NOT USE_ ON- PRICKING IRONS , PUNCHES ETC. AS. I APPRECIATE THE "SMOOTH" "FACES" OF THIS HAMMER. CHEERS:)

Inexpensive but not perfect
Pretty good value for money, but it came with a slightly loose head.

Excellent hammer for the price
Works better than a plastic mallet and isnt too heavy or awkward. Works great at hammering down glued folded leather edges. Good size and weight, nice steel head with a nice polish to the steel. More affordable than similar hammers from US leather suppliers. Handle is solid wood and is not loose in the steel head. Easy to use.

Two climates equals loose head!
Review: Wilton Hammer — Aesthetic Promise, Functional Flaws At first glance, the Wilton double‑headed hammer looks like a craftsman’s companion — polished metal head, reddish‑brown wooden handle, and a balanced silhouette that suggests precision. But closer inspection reveals that the execution doesn’t quite match the promise. Handle Finish: The wooden handle shows signs of rushed finishing. The outer surface alternates between thick and thin layers of varnish, leaving uneven texture and inconsistent sheen. While the wood itself has a pleasant tone, the irregular finish detracts from both comfort and appearance, making the grip feel patchy rather than smooth. Head Attachment: The metal head, though sturdy, lacks proper reinforcement. It needed metal spikes hammered into the top to secure it firmly to the handle — a traditional method that prevents loosening over time. Without this, the joint feels under‑engineered, especially for heavy or repetitive use. Verdict: This hammer has potential — the materials are solid, and the design is appealing — but the craftsmanship falls short. A more careful finishing process and proper head reinforcement would elevate it from a decent tool to a reliable workshop staple.

Great hammer for leatherwork
Truly love this hammer for workin leather. The surfaces of the hammer are very smooth and leave no marks on the leather as long as you’re doing your dang job and holdin it right. I had to get a new one once my grandson “borrowed” my old one and dinged up the surfaces on metal. I just chuckled, and got me a new one. He means more to me than any danged old hammer by a long shot. Although this one is kept up outta his reach now.

If you hand stitch your leather work
So many people have recently taken up leather working since Covid. Many are new to the craft and have not mastered all the little things that take your work from OK to "wow look at this". Hand stitching is one of the best ways to make your work shine, with different thread sizes and colors you can add that extra "awesome" without having to change anything else. Finishing up your threadwork by tapping the lace down into the stitching groove gives a smoother feel and keeps the threads from over abrasion. This hammer has a very slight convex on one of the heads and the other is dead flat. These options work well when using different leathers, on thinner more firm leather you may need the flat head, so you don't create dimples. On thicker, softer leather like Bison, I prefer the convex head. Is this an Al Stoleman (the Godfather of leatherwork) hammer, absolutely not, does it do what I need it to, most definitely. It is priced just right for anyone to try, if you don't like, put it in the garage for someone else to use.

Another Amazing Wuta Product
I will admit it's a little larger than I expected it to be, but once I got over the initial shock I'm loving this hammer. I make small leather goods like wallets and cardholders and wanted a new hammer for use with setting contact cement and hammering stitches flat. The dual sides of this hammer meet my needs and let me do it in style, I know corny and cheesy, but it's true. The looks of this hammer are just an added bonus that I think most tool manufacturers don't think about. All of my Wuta tools are my favourites to use. Highly recommend. 5 stars for sure!!! I would double up on that if I could.
