These are underated, underpriced speakers! They compete with $500 bookshelf stereo/studio monitors.
In February of 2024, I bought, HiVi-Swans D1100 Computer Speakers, and I was really surprised on how good they sounded. And yet, I returned them for only one reason: the blue-tooth feature was rather dicey and to bypass to aux was a pain in the a**! So, I read up on the HiVi-Swans D100 Computer Speakers and +95% of the reviews, in and outside of Amazon, were impressive. I ordered the speakers... Swan speakers are well-built and pretty shocking on how good they sound for their price point. I let them break in for about three weeks: +72 hours of listening. The sound? They sound better than their little cousin (D1100) in all phases. It takes a little bit of time to get used to the ribbon speaker as compared to the ones on the D1100. For a the D100's to produce the sound they do, especially with a 4" driver for low mid-range and bass, is a little mind boggling. The mid-range and upper mids are clean, defined, spacious and very detailed without being harsh. The lower mid-range and bass? Detailed, clean, uncolored and not boomy whatsoever. I have owned very expensive speakers; in excess of $10,000, so I know what sounds good and what doesn't. Do these speakers compete with those? Uh-no, and they aren't met too either! I am really impressed how dynamic they are, and yeah - they can get loud without distortion. The bass, to me, is deep enough. If someone wants lower, then get a subwoofer! But, for bookshelf speakers, they are just as good as ones that are in the $400 to $500 range. I primarily use them for video streaming on my Samsung tv. They are fantastic when watching a movie. I, once in awhile, will listen to music with the speakers on YouTube. Impressive as well. But, I primarily listen to music with my Kali Audio IN-5 5-inch Powered Studio Monitors. I am not, nor should anyone compare the D100 to the Kali's. Why? The Kali's are $700 a pair, are studio monitors and compete, and rather easily so, with monitor speakers in the $1,000 range. But, for their size, the D100's are almost as accurate. So, if I ever decide to pay another pair of active speakers, and I am trying to find an excuse to do so - for my teenage son, I will be buying HiVi-Swans. They are that good.

Swan D100 compared to the Edifier R1280DBs - Very close
I purchased these Swans D100 speakers specifically to compare with the Edifier R1280DBs speakers as i could not find a decent comparison video/writeup online. Since both have Bluetooth and RCA connections, they make a perfect home office/computer speaker set with excellent wireless (BT) or wired connection. My impressions of the D100 are: they have excellent "rich" sound and plenty of volume for their size. I am using them at 3-8 feet as near field. However, they are a little too rich for me, and they lose some points in the mid/vocal range. When using for meetings, the sound/speech quality is not quite as good as the Edifier. The Edifier's have a more neutral all-inclusive sound, but they are just a bit on the hollow side compared to the D100s. For someone that wants a very smooth, rich sound... D100s are excellent, they will not disappoint overall. D100 Build quality, knobs, box, remote are all better than the Edifier... and i think it's a better looking speaker as well. The Edifier wins for me with extra inputs and a Subwoofer output. No speaker in this (under $200) price range is going to be excellent, i may try the some others in the similar price range just to see what i can find.

Underrated 💎
The D100 is so good after break in. I use the Bluetooth option to play YouTube music. Very warm and crisp sound with plenty bass you won't believe it's coming from these small speakers. Very happy with the purchase! Thanks Swan! For Bluetooth input option, the source phone sound settings affect the speaker sound a lot. Also different phones have different Bluetooth transmission effect. I tried two phones and one tablet with Bluetooth and the tablet with the sound effect setting set to flat equalizer gives the most natural sound from the speakers. Other enhanced settings produced more 3D effects but I felt tired when listening to it for a longer time. So it depends on your preference. I am using the speakers to play background music, so the natural sound is the best for me. The enhanced sound settings from the source phone or tablet are great for parties. I am not sure the break in time, but playing it every day for a few hours makes the sound better and better within a week.

Worked great till they didn't.
Worked great till they didn't. The toggle switch to turn them off and on just broke after 3 years. So I just started using the remote to turn them on and off and now that wont even work. These are my main computer speaker for editing and i'm super disappointed because the sound was great it's just the other parts that apparently suck.

Easily Best Speaker in Price Range
Pros - Astounding highs that aren't overly harsh and are quite accurate - Great lows and overall mixing of speakers - A ton of options for balanced and unbalanced inputs - Great sound for size - CHEAP Cons - No sub out (Might need a bit more for some real rumbling if you like that) Absolutely surprised with the quality of these speakers. There are details that I have never heard from my prior speakers, these tweeters are something else. With a slide for preference on treble or bass, you may change the tuning yourself for your likes. I don't have anything to say against these speakers other than the fact that they don't have as much bass as some may like, but then you should buy the D200 for the larger woofer. If you are more of a treble enjoyer, these are the perfect ones for you, if you are wanting more low end, a subwoofer or d200 will do you better, other than that, easy 5 star for me.

no enough bass at lower levels.
these are great for playing at like 50-80% volume. but i have these at my work desk and cant play them louder then 30%. they also only go down to 60hz then immediately roll off. not a fan of that. the Vanatoo t0s have 4 inch woofers as well but can go under 50hz.

STUNNING QUALITY
Excellent sound and features. The parts and features are useful. The light indicator can be turned off if you want a non distracted view of your TV. The sound is all adjustable and it has blue tooth and aux mode. Just can't say enough good things about these. They rock. The price point is worth every penny. The wood grain is nice The feet under the box are quality not the sticky tape kind that fall off. They have screws , they won't fall off if you move them around a lot. I use my electric guitar with these. Crisp sound. Fun and powerful enough that I can bother the neighbors.

Experiencia y calidad auditiva
