Can i use these without the nvr? i have a 48 port poe switch and want 8 cameras to back up to a network drive. i also want 24/7 recording. possible?

Take a look at AI-HomeGuard software (running on PC/Windows 10, Linux Nvidia Jetson Nano) - search keyword “ai-homeguard” at Amazon. The AI based software eliminates any false alarm without missing positive events, sends email alerts, and records detected objects (person, car, dog …) on your PC; remote access alert images, recordings and live view of all your home cameras from remote devices. No cloud service needed.

Is the "color night vision" only possible with the light? I would not be using the light as I want this to be more stealth

You don't need to light the camera's field of vision (FOV) for the camera to work at nights. It has multiple, lighting-related settings to optimize the camera's effectiveness both in daylight and night conditions. Also, the camera does not have a visible light on the outside which would reveal its existence and position.

Ip8m-2597ew. does this come with a 4.0mm lens?
