Finally found the right swing away basket
I have spent a very long time trying to find a way to carry more stuff on my mid size suv without blocking the back hatch access, also that didn’t ride so far away from the trunk that it looks goofy. I have tried to cobble together elements of pricy bike swing away hitches and read lots of reviews on *the lowest price* options. The lowest price ones sag noticeable with weight. This set up is a perfect happy in between cost and fits our needs and has been a very good quality purchase. Tbh, we unloaded most of weight once at our camping location but, even loaded we didn’t notice the basket sagging. I think anyone who bares in mind the weight limits with some regard, this set up will work perfectly fine for many trips.

Does NOT allow both doors on a promaster or transit to open.
1Well built but does not allow van doors to open very much when swung out. Not for vans.

Easy to install but pricey
This is very easy to install but very pricey. I think they scalp you on the price because there aren't many on the market to choose from that swing out and quite honestly, unless you're stacking a lot on it, which can't be more than about 200 pounds total, they you should be able to lift your rear door without any issue.

Great cargo rack
We are very pleased with the swing-away cargo rack. It is very sturdy and easy to assemble. We used it on a 2-week camping trip to hold the cooler and other gear - making it very easy to add groceries and ice to the cooler without the need to open the back of our Subaru Outback. When we set up camp, it was very easy to just swing the rack to the side to get to the equipment in the car. The rack is is small enough that the vehicle plus rack could still fit in most parking spaces. All around, the rack performed exactly as expected and we predict that it will hold up well, based on our one summer of experience with it.

seems like false advertising.
The product is fine. Heavy duty and easy to swing. However, my van door does not clear the bin. I don't think it should be sold giving the impression that you can use it and open your doors. Should be a clause stating this may not work on all vehicles. Sort of disappointing for such an expensive carrier.

Great function idea
Tuff,..well built and as a result,..heavy. The swing away option makes it very easy to enter and exit the pop-up camper on my pickup and keep from lifting our large ice chest in and out of the camper. Should have an aluminum basket option and perhaps change the swing arm (under the basket) to aluminum to help save weight.

this rack is amazing. It's well-built but on the heavy side
So far, this rack is amazing. It's well-built but on the heavy side. I travel with my dog, so I need to be able to lift the back door while the rack is fully loaded. This works perfectly. One draw back-friends wanting to borrow it for their trips.

This is just as described! We are able to pack as much as we need and still access the back hatch of our SanteFe!
