I like this blood pressure tool because I believe its accurate. I have done allot of research on the Internet and they all say the electronic ones are not real accurate. They all read differently. This explains why when you go into for a physical the nurse uses one just like this. They no its accurate doing it the old fashioned way. This product works. Another reason I like this product its a good price. This device is not for very one. You have to be a good learner to figure out how to use it. It took me a while to learn it. You almost feel like giving up because you dont think it works because you are not using it right. But keep trying and you you figure it out and you will have the best accurate device out there to get a accurate reading. Here is some tips . The main problem I had was trying to find the brachial artery on your arm. What I do is stretch my arm out straight and clinch my fist. Then I put 2 fingers on my arm to find the artery and feel the pulse of the artery. Then I take a ink pen and mark it with a x. This is where you put the stethoscope onto. You have to find this artery or you wont get a reading. Find it first. Then you put the stethoscope halfway under the blood pressure cuff. This holds it in place. Then you let out the air cuff carefully . This will take you a while to learn how fast open let air out. Then listen too the first heart beat and the last heart beat. You are done. It will take several times to learn it. Its worth the effort to learn this. What a good product for the price. I would buy another one.

I bought this pressure cuff and stethoscope to use in my nursing assistant class in which we we required to measure blood pressure accurate to +/- 10 mmHg of our instructor's measurement, and they held up very nicely. They were comparable in accuracy to a 40 dollar combo that the class was selling, which pleasantly surprised me. Here are some pros and cons that I encountered while using them. PROS: 1. Like I said, the value. These will have no problem with accuracy or sound. I was able to clearly make out the systolic and diastolic sounds. 2. The cuff is slightly more comfortable to put onto someone and is easier to get a tight fit in comparison to other cuffs. CONS: 1. The only major downside that I encountered was the flimsy air valve. It is really hard to have precise control over how much air was being let out because of how flimsy the knob was. Even a slight turn would sometimes release air too fast to measure, forcing me to redo the measurement. In conclusion, I believe that this cuff and stethoscope combination is a great starting kit and is comparable in value to kits way pricier than the low price that Paramed charges.

I am a registered nurse so I have used my fair share of sphygmomanometers aka blood pressure cuffs and stethoscopes throughout my time. I wanted to purchase a set for home-usage. I think it is something that should always be kept at any household as you can never know what could happen and need a quick assessment. Overall, I am pleased with this product. Of course, you get what you pay for and there are definitly so much more that is better! However, I am here to write a review on this sole product. The blood pressure cuff is quite nice and you will need to first calibrate it using the little silver key that comes with it. The instructions are easy to follow and I had no trouble with it. I tried utilizing the cuff to read my own BP (blood pressure) and it was pretty accurate at 130s/80s, which is what I am usually sitting around at. As for the stethoscope, well I agree with everyone else in the other past reviews. It is VERY cheap!!! Please remember that you are purchasing a low-priced kit that will not have amazing technology built-in and will have some downsides. I did have trouble listening to my own BP pressure using the stethoscope so I had to use my other personal one. However, I dude use the Paramed stethoscope to listen to my own heart sounds and I did hear it just fine. Note that it is only a one-sided diaphragm scope and does NOT have a bell side to it. Overall, it is pretty decent for the price. Please do your research before committing to an item! For the price, it's not bad at all. There are definitly better and sometimes you just have to spend a few more bucks to get it.

November 2016 - Two stars It is not that easy to use to self measure your blood preasure as pictured. I needed for this only purpose and doesn't work. It seems to be good quality but It didn't met my expectation. Update - April 2017 - Three stars The vendor contacted me to know why my bad review. I explained to them and they ofered a serie of videos explaining how to use the equipment. This was bought as a replacement of an old one so I am pretty sure it is not a user problem, I let them know that a couple of times. However, I saw all the videos and kept my review. Then they ofered sending a new equipment for free. I tested it and send my comments via email: "It works better than the previous one, althought I still do not beleive it is easy for self measure as it was with my older monitor. The valve is not easy-release, it goes too fast or too slow, several trials are needed. And the stethoscope is uncomfortable." I had no complains with the customer service when the first email arrived, it is natural expecting an explanation from an unhappy customer, I know that because I run a business myself. However, their persistance and tone on the emails crossed the line I considered permisible between honest customer service and just the need to obtain a change in the article review no matter what. I was not happy with the product, I returned it without a problem, really easy process I give them that. And that would be the only reason to update to three stars from the original two. I received a new one, I send my comments. No commitment on paying the second one, I satated that clearly. I am still not happy with the product. The fact that they respond and send emails (several) almost without reading what you write, says a lot. But I do read the emails. You needed me to update my review. This is my update. I hope it helps you improve the way you communicate with your customers.

Edit of previous review: While I still can't say I love the BP cuff design, I can say that I love the customer service! After my previous review I was contacted by one of Paramed's representatives and they replaced my faulty unit with a new unit. I hadn't requested a replacement since I already owned a stethoscope and didn't have a problem with the BP cuff besides the design of it so I was very impressed when their customer service reached out to me to remedy the problem.The new unit works very well and I would buy from Paramed again based off their customer service alone. For the price you pay this BP does the job although there are some annoyances that I'm not fond of. The dial isn't permanently attached to the cuff and instead slides on the cuff with a clip in the back. This can get frustrating since the tubes connecting pump and dial get tangled and the dial occasionally flops off the cuff or whatever else it is connected to. For the cuff itself in order to get it on one needs to slide their arm into it instead of wrapping it around the arm. This can be personal preference but I don't like this feature. As for the stethoscope, it's TERRIBLE and would better be suited for a kid's doctor play set. But, what can you expect for the cheap price. Over all opinion, BP cuff works but there's annoyances; the stethoscope doesn't work.

I ordered the manual blood pressure cuff along with a stethoscope for a very reasonable price on Amazon. I was not expecting the same quality as a unit that cost five times to 10 times the amount, but what I received was something that surpassed my expectations. The blood pressure cuff is very well constructed, and I would have a hard time distinguishing it from a much more expensive version that you may find in a doctors office. The gauge and valve are fairly heavy and completely metal, so there is very little plastic that could break. I actually bought this for my nine-year-old daughter to play with as she aspires to be a doctor when she grows up. If anything this has further engaged her and even interested my seven-year-old daughter in medicine as well. It did take her maybe 8 to 10 times practicing before she could reasonably take a blood pressure reading, but now she can do it reliably. The cuff is meant for an adult and I assume would work on very large arms as well. It is a struggle to use for very small children but my nine-year-old can use it on her friends and usually get a accurate reading. Everything about this blood pressure cuff is fantastic for the price.
