Spilling the Beans on Blackbeard Paperback – 1 June 2000

I make up and tell stories to my 7 yr old nephew.Like all little boys his favourites are the ones with alot of chasing,fighting,thumps and bangs.I told him a story with Blackbeard,telling him how he lived on a ship hundreds of years ago.I told him how little boys like him were press ganged into working and living on the ship and never saw their famalies again.He told me that my stories were fantastic and exciting and i explained that they were based on the real pirate Blackbeard.He didn't believe me,in fact he thinks that the whole idea of pirates was made up for a film.While searching for books on Blackbeard i saw this and thought what a perfect book for a child to learn about pirates and especially this one.The book it'self is quite thin but is full of facts.It has a funny take which makes it far more interesting for a childs mind.I have read it myself as it is so interesting and in fact it has passed around the whole family and back to my newphew to keep.I have decided to buy more books from the'spilling the beans' series as these books are a fun way for children to learn historical facts.One of my best buys.
