Clairol Natural Instincts Hair Color, [8G] Medium Golden Blonde 1 Each

I had used a semi-permanent color for many years until my hair became so gray that I was having difficulty covering the gray. For a couple of years, I had my stylist color my hair professionally, but that left it dry and lifeless. I finally decided to let my hair go completely gray. After a couple of years, though, I tired of the gray and wanted to try color again. That's when I picked up this hair color. Boy, am I glad I did!I love the color and I feel 20 years younger! (I'm 52 years old, in case you're wondering.) I'm also thrilled that the color leaves my hair vibrant and shiny, rather than dull and lifeless.One thing I noticed was that for me, the color doesn't always take. I don't know what the reason is, but sometimes it covers my gray fabulously and sometimes not so well. One thing I learned from when I previously colored my hair with a semi-permanent color is that coloring it every 6-8 weeks not only keeps the color fresh, but the results are additive. What I mean by that is, the hair that has been colored repeatedly gets richer in color and the gray is totally covered. My advice if you try this color to cover gray is to try it three or so times before deciding if it really works for you.One note about my experience: When I previously colored my hair with semi-permanent color, this was not the brand I used. I love the previous product that I was using (L'Oreal), but it was discontinued. This hair color is similar to the L'Oreal product and I am getting similar (excellent) results with it.

I have used Natural Instincts for a long time now. I like that it is not very permanent color, that way I don't need to keep coloring and recoloring to avoid Roots. The color very slowly Fades as my hair grows out anyway. I use this hair color to supplement the foils I get about two times a year. I have curly hair, so it's a lot easier for me to do lower maintenance color because it Blends in well. This hair color is easy to use and does not smell really bad and comes with a really nice conditioner tube that I can get three or four conditioning treatments out of. This does not lighten or bleach your hair, it goes on top of your natural hair color and I mainly use it to brighten up my natural color which is quite dull.

I have used this product off and on for years with good results. Hair is soft and conditioned. Just keep in mind this will NOT lighten your darker roots. This is only good for same color hair or to go darker. I took a star off because Sally's beauty supply has a natural blonde semi- color that's better

I love my natural hair color, but within the last couple of years I've gotten way too many grays for my age - they make me look older than I am. I wanted something that matched my natural shade but downplayed the grays. This is a perfect match for my natural hair color. I mean, it is *exactly* the color of my hair. I should mention that it does not completely mask my gray hairs - rather, it sits on top of them with a lighter coverage that gives the effect of dimensional highlights in my hair rather than straight up, "oh look, she has a stressful job" gray hair. It works for me, because I've noticed that same-all-over hair dyes make me look rather flat and dull anyway. If you are looking for full gray coverage, I'm not entirely convinced this would work for you. I wish they offered this in permanent rather than just semi-permanent, because I will be using this product indefinitely unless I can find a permanent option in exactly the same shade.

I followed the instructions on the box pretty precisely, applied it to damp hair and left on for 10 min. It turned my hair a bright red, not Dark Honey Blonde. I'm going to have to call their customer support to see if there is a way to get rid of it. There are no products in the store that say they will correct this.Follow up: I called Clairol customer support. While the agent was extremely polite, she was not very helpful. She suggested another color to be applied over this color, with shampoo mixed in the colorant. She said this would make my hair even darker, but reduce the red. I decided not to try this experiment, afraid of what I would end up with. I can either go to the hairdresser and get her to change the color, which will be with a permanent die I was trying to avoid, or tough it our for about 3 weeks as the color gradually fades.

I have been using this on my hair for about 15 years, ever since it turned gray. It colors it perfectly without any harsh chemicals and doesn’t even have any smell, probably because it’s ammonia free and I don’t even use the plastic gloves in the box. I love it completely mostly because there’s never ever any roots growing out. Somehow the color just fades away until it’s time to spread it on again for 15-20 minutes and your good to go for months.

For some reason the color I buy 8/5 Champange on Ice is never available in stores. It closely matches my natural color which is (was?) a medium blonde. It is a very natural tone and that is hard to do with blonde! It is neither warm (yellow or reddish) NOR cool (greenish-yuk!) I started buying this brand because when I started menopause my hair became dry and damaged looking. This has no ammonia so it is gentler. I am getting more and more gray and those areas come out more "highlighted" looking. It says it lasts 28 days. That is pushing it a bit, the grays start to win on about day 20 so I redo it early.

So glad to receive this set of three boxes! This is awesome for my hair! I used to get it done professionally and that got sooo expensive I looked around for an alternative and wow this is great. If you don’t wash your hair everyday it lasts a good long time actually for me several months. It covers a little bit of gray that I have and it’s a beautiful color. Highly recommend if you are a medium blonde. It’s a very natural color and easy to do.
